What did you fix today? (part 2)

Did a top cover swap between the two FM2n bodies I own, one of which being the body I'm selling at the swap meet. Decided I could live with more brassing on the body I was keeping.

I fixed the aperture lever on my Jupiter 21M, the screws that hold it were loose and so was the lever. This problem caused the aperture settings beyond f4.8 to be wider by 1/2 stop and f4 was narrower by 1/2 stop. Ahh Russian lenses are fun stuff for tinkerers
 
Disassembled a Lubitel 2's viewfinder assembly and cleaned it. Finally i can actually focus this thing! :-D
 
Replaced the eyepiece surround on my F's FTn finder, so I can install an eyecup. Also cleaned the glass on the 50/1.4 and installed a motor drive plate, so the F-36 I have can be used with it.

I replaced the old leather from my newly bought Hasselblad A12 magazine (from 1981) with new one from Camera Leather. Also cleaned the new focusing screen with split prism and grid.
 
Repaired the meter indexing mechanism on my newly acquired $5.00 Nikkormat FT2 body. Now can mount a lens without it being hung up at f/11.

I bought a couple of 100x150 filters on a sale but the holder where unfortunately not on sale so I designed and 3d printed my own.



The slots are stackable so I can print and add more filter if I need but I doubt that I will.
 
Replaced focusing ring on the 80mm Hasselblad lens. It was hard to find the part so I emailed Hasselblad and they said the they no longer had the part, but that I should search eBay for the part number that they gave me. The part arrived a few days later and snapped right on.

I fixed the Auto mechanism on my Jupiter-21M (Finally), until now I was forced to use Manual only due to a broken spring.
 
Sat down this afternoon to replace all light seals and mirror dampener in a Minolta X700. The X500 will be next.
 
My first (I think!) successful 35mm camera repair, less-than-80-years-old division! Fixed a sticky shutter on a Goodwill-sourced Konica III. It barely opened and closed when I got it, now it sings at all speeds as far as my aging eyes and ears can tell! I'm very pleased!
 
Repair prevention: I fired and cocked each Hasselblad lens several times at different speeds. My Hasselblad repairman recommends that I do that with all the lenses every three months.
 
Fixed the plastic shot counter on my old Bessa R that somehow fell in while shooting one day. Took the top plate off and glued it on. I tried this new loctite super glue, just a tiny bit applied with a tooth pick and I let it dry. unfortunately it seemed to have off gassed a bit more after put the top back on and closed it up... So the view finder is a little fogged now. doh! not using that glue next time for plastics!
 
This weekend: found out my Zeiss S-Planar 120mm got a broken spring. Reassembled (sans-spring) and put it in the shelf while I wait for the part to arrive.

Today: changed the brake pads on my Honda Fit. At least, the car brakes safely now.
 
Reconditioned a Nikkormat with new mirror bumper--replaced foam seals with wool thread(without glue this time: just laid in the deep channels--Will see how that works.) Put a drop of oil on timer clock wheels and Lever throw from the base. Works like a charm now, On 35mm Nikkor-O Auto, polished glass(see post on Lens Haze.)
Finally on a 50mm Micro-Nikkor that had a mangled filter thread, I was able to alter the threads to a degree with a Dremal with cutting wheel, using it very gingerly, I can now attach a filter that stays on.
 
Fixed the sluggish aperture on my Tessar 50mm...again. Ahhh gears from the Eastern Bloc, there is always something to fix.
 
Took apart a Mamiya Six to see if I could see what the automatic shutter cocking arm kept falling out of sync. It would keep coming to rest in a spot that would prevent the shutter from actually firing. I cleaned a bunch of gunk off of the parts that seemed to control the timing and it has been operating perfectly since.

Hi Sjixxxy, I have just finished cleaning nearly all of the optical surfaces in my Mamiya Six IV and have just processed the first test roll. I checked the TMX 100 negs on a light box and the results are stunning. Consistent exposures over a range of aperture / shutter speeds, nice even frame spacing, no signs of light leaks and best of all the negs are very sharp. Did I mention that the negs are SHARP. Gotta love that Zuiko Takatiho lens from the late '40s.

Next maintenance item is the rangefinder. The lens that faces the viewfinder is hazy on the inside which means that the viewfinder is usable but I can't see the rangefinder patch very well. The lens is cemented in, (supposedly with shellac), and will have to be uncemented, cleaned and then replaced. Probably use nail varnish to secure it. Most of the test roll were shot at 30 feet to infinity focussing. Look forward to using the rangefinder properly.

This is a common problem with Russian lenses-I once bought a 50mm with a smashed front element to pirate the spring out of it to fix my 16mm Russian lens.

I need to get back inside mine and spend more time on the rangefinder. Patch is clear, but after getting it adjusted to work at the ~15 foot ranges I normally shoot, the infinity is way off.

Looks like I spoke too soon. When I checked the negs on my improvised light table, (android tablet), with a magnifying glass they looked excellent.
My scans on a V700 didn't look quite so good. My Yashicamat 124G easily outperforms my Mamiya Six. I cannot currently wet print MF.

I cannot currently use the rangefinder but I was hoping for more from shots focussed at infinity. I did notice quite a few swirly marks on some of the inner surfaces when I cleaned the lens. Someone has been her before, probably many years ago. I was hoping that these marks would only cause problems with flare but I'm now afraid that they have taken the sharp edge off of the lens. I won't know until I can clean the rangefinder and adjust it to focus correctly at the film plane. I'll persevere with this as I like the handling of a MF rangefinder camera.
 
Replaced all of the light seals and mirror bumper in my Pentax Super Program.
