hi omu
forgive my english, i hope i will be able to be understood ...
paper negatives are a lot of fun. you can use paper instead of film
in any camera, large format or 35mm. with large format cameras
you can contact print the paper negative, the smaller cameras, because the
image ( negative ) is so small, you have to use another method to enlarge it.
( some use an enlarger others use the electric-thing )
paper is not panchromatic, so it sees the world differently, red=black, sky=white ...
and it has contrast that is difficult sometimes.
what i do is i put paper in the back of my camera, and "rate" it as asa 6 or 12
and make a long exposure. some people "pre-flash" the paper to aid with the contrast issues,
some people use yellow filters as well. caffenol c that has been used already is slow and low contrast
compared to other developers. i put the paper in the developer and after 2 minutes the image begins to appear.
i develop for 4 minutes and then water bath. i use both rc and fiber paper, they both work well
i like using paper negatives because photographic paper is very inexpensive compared to film. old/ expired/ fogged
paper works very well for paper negatives because of the loss of contrast + speed. i also like the way
paper shows what the world looks like differently because it can not register all the light ( only blue + green ).
caffenol seems like it is a great developer for everything, film and paper !
