Hi all!

I know that this is an odd request, but if anyone wants to try some pretty off-the-wall film basically for free, this is your chance!

I recently got a very large roll of Kodak 2465 Microfilm, and was wondering if anyone would be willing to test some of it in various developers to see how it behaves. Unfortunately I don’t have many developers here, and also not much time unfortunately. I do plan to sell this film later on, though I won’t be charging much for it since it’s ridiculously cheap. Basically just my time and postage.

It is an extra contrasty blue-green sensitive stock. I’ve gotten good, if contrasty. results at around EI 12-25 in HC-110 B, and I plan to try it in HC-110 H and Rodinol 1:50 as well to see if I can get the contrast down a bit. It didn’t work very well in H&W control though, which was surprising.

If anyone within the US wants to try this film, I’ll send you a couple of rolls of 120 or a few sheets of 4x5, for free (although $5-10 for postage would be nice), in exchange for sharing your results with me so I can start to compile a development time chart.

If anyone is interested, definitely let me know and I’ll write your name down and send you film when I have the time to make some.

Thanks!

You may wish to mention whether people outside the USA are eligible.

Fixed

I'd be interested, in whichever format is more convenient. I assume this film can be handled under red safelight?
Yes, that is correct, it’s ortho film. As far as format, I can do either, just let me know what you prefer.

Photographers Formulary sells a version of Kodak Tech Pan developer, it is a low contrast developer and can be used with microfilm which was similar to Tech pan

I’m aware, I don’t have any myself but that might be an interesting idea to try.

I'd be interested, microfilm has been a massive fascination recently and I've found one or two recipes for caffenol that can help tame it.

Thanks! I just got some Tech Pan from a forum member, and was going to try HC-110, but I think I'll give TD-3 a try.

Thank you for all of the replies, I do see them, unfortunately right now I’m just very busy so don’t have a lot of time to reply. Hopefully this weekend I’ll get back to the folks that want to try this film.

I replied to the folks that PM’d me, I probably won’t be able to send out any film until Thanksgiving break in a couple of weeks. Lots of school stuff and other things going on. But, again, if you let me know you’re interested, I can write your name down and see about cutting some of this film for some folks.

A roll of 2465 popped up in my eBay recommendations this week and I bought it so I'll try and contribute my experiences with it. Gonna try and cut up some 4x5 sheets tonight
