I entered the world of color by processing my first C-41 rolls this morning. 2 rolls of Fuji X-Tra 800 in a Unicolor C-41 kit. Only issue was some spots after the drying on the backside, but they wipe off with a sponge dampened in distilled water.

I developed 4X 120 rolls this evening. IX Ilford FP4, 2X Rollei Infrared and 1X Rollei 80S. I had to guess the developing for the 80S as I could not find the times for the dev I had (FD10). Knowing that FD10 is similar to Ilfosol 3 I chanced it and used the same time and it was OK. It was a bit of a marathon as I can only do one film at a time in a Patterson tank and I do hate the thing as it leaks when I invert it no matter how carefully I think I have sealed the lid (thinking about getting one of the AP tanks instead because I have heard they don't leak).

Have you tried "burping" the Paterson tank? Press down on one side of the lid whilst holding the other side partly open and then firmly close the open side.

Which type of Paterson (not Patterson) tank do you have?

The old, grey capped System IV or the newer, large black capped Super System IV?

The older versions are getting really old, so seals and gaskets may be long past their prime.

And the newer version needs burping!

The "newer" type with a large black cap. I will try burping.

Two hundred and forty eight 5”x7” and sixteen 8"x10” prints for aunts, uncles and cousins at an 80th Birthday party.
Right now, I'm grateful to not have a large family. Now I'm collating ”Where Did I Come From?” ancestor photos to make full family tree albums.

Second time processing C-41 this morning, and the first's success was not a fluke. One roll of Fuji Superia 400 and 2 12 shot rolls of Fuji 100(both on one spool) in Unicolor C-41 kit. Once it dries, I will see if the addition of some photoflo to the stabilizer eliminates a spot problem I had. And for Svenedin above, my AP tank leaks a bit as well so you may not find a solution by buying it to replace the Paterson.

Ten 6x4ish prints from a few frames I shot this time last year as part of a sort-of-documentation of a performance art piece.
The prints are for the artist concerned to form part of her archive, and will become part of a display associated with the piece, which is performed annually on the same day at the same venue.
Scans of prints I have previously made from other negatives from last year will also be merged into the performance as part of a colocated video.performance.
The piece consists of video, physical movement by the artist, and a fragment of a 15th century song cycle, the latter originally performed live but after the death of the vocal artist over year ago, only recordings of her performances now remain.
As each year's performance takes place, sound, photographic and video recordings are taken which then become part of the next year's event, layers and layers building up over the years.

I find it rather humbling to think my poor efforts at photography will now form part of an art piece that might go on being performed for another 20 or 30 years ... perhaps even after my death.

Tried some Adox Lupex done in Eco Pro at 1+9. Bought 2 of their sample pack of 5 sheets, sent no shipping from D-land. Contact prints on silver chloride of 8x10 negative. Photograph taken with a Wollensak 159mm WA lens, which actually presented a problem with a "hot spot" in the center of the negative. It doesn't look like typical vignetting in the corners, and i am having trouble "burning in" the light center. Heavily overcast day so flare doesn't necessarily make sense? Actually looks "foggy" in the center (a rather large area of fog_). Don't recall that i used too much shifting or tilt.

I recently had an all-night printing session (palladium/platinum prints)...some 5x7 portraits and some prints from the Rolleiflex negs. I was a little rusty and took awhile to get started up, but eventually got going.

14 rolls of black and white, 6 - 135 format, and 8 - 120 format. Was trying out ADOX FX-39 and it does give a very nice sharp negative, with beautiful grain.

Here is an example of Ilford HP5+ in 120 format. Hasselblad with 80mm Planar. I like this developer a lot.

A roll of 616 Kodak Super XX with a Develop Before date in 1951. See post 118 in the most recent current Monthly Shooting Assignment thread for some of the results: (there was a url link here which no longer exists)

Did an 18x18 inch version (matted and framed to 25x25) of this for a client. I was very happy with the results.

Four rolls of 400TX (120) today...a start on the backlog, anyway! I'll do four more in the morning.

Thanks for the post.

How are the speeds and grain compared to Rodinal 1+25/1+50?

A roll of Kodak Plus-X 127 that I bought at an antiques fair. Bought it mainly for the box, but the film had been exposed and I couldn't resist developing it. Expiry date was 1967. The images were surprisingly good except for some light leakage at the edges. Most were of a visit to a zoo, but as a bit of a petrol-head I was interested in a shot of a Mk1 Ford Cortina and its proud owner. The car would have been new or not far off it if the film was shot around '67. For those in any doubt, the Mk1 was the one with what were known as 'CND' rear lights. I know that the squarer Mk2 was also sold in the US but I don't know about the Mk1.

Tom,
Not only does that shot look nice and sharp(can't fault those Zeiss optics), but the tonal range is absolutely perfect from the dark shadows in the tree leafs right to holding detail in the sky. I've never used FX39, but have used FX37, which was suppose to be close to FX39. Very nice shot anyway.......................John W

I would say full emulsion speed, and the grain is slightly more apparent, and a fair bit sharper. I never found Rodinal to look very sharp, as wonderful as it is.
