Did this ever happen?
Absolutely,
the negative has arrived at Ralph's, who asked me about the next person so I suppose he may have printed it, but I may suppose wrong.

Good! So the negative will be traveling again!
I'm sorry the reverse traveling negative stalled.

I used an inter-positive of this negative last night for some tests, and will try again this evening. If the print comes out I'll post it here.

ha!
I was just about to stick my nose in and say that - even though I was never on the original list of participants - if this negative comes back to the UK in its travels, I'd grab itfor 24 hours to make an interpos and then post it straight onto the next destination, then make a print at my leisure.

but i been beat to it by the Sonoma Calotyper

Yes but if Pdeeh made an interpositive, it would be full of detail, maybe even with the beautiful grain that was on the original negative. I made mine using Mortensen's paper negative process. The interpositive was made by projecting the image onto photopaper that had been soaked in developer. Then the enlarged paper negative was made by normal contact printing. Then contact printed again to make this one.

Here is a (there was a url link here which no longer exists) made from it yesterday. The main goal was to see if this process would work on Fabriano Tiepolo paper ( it does, very nicely! ) but happy to end up with this print.

Please remove me from the list.
My son is retiring from the service (Old Guard - Army) at the same time that he will be getting divorced so he will be moving in with me for a while at the end of the month.
He gets the darkroom and my darkroom gets boxed up (for a while).

I regret not taking part but am excited to have my son 'back home' again.

Thanks

Ken

I didn't follow this thread clearly, but my question is, are you sending the negs as processed or not?
I was thinking to send one as processed and one is not processed for the same film to see what is the difference i can get for same film, say i will shoot almost the same subject under the same settings as possible then i want to see what will the difference be by my processing and others, we will try to use same developers if possible, or even different developers for comparison if necessary.

The negative has been processed. The negative travels around the globe and each person enlarges it into a print and then mails it to the next person.

I see, from my part i only can send negative, but i can't print, but i really wish if i can receive a negative so i can scan instead, but this site is all about analogue and no scan i believe, so maybe i will try with another site if they like this idea, processing film and scanning is my joy more than printing, i can't have a darkroom at all in my small house so why bother, but i know how many here love to print.

If it is a crap negative, then you are going to get a series of crap prints. Would not a better version be we all photograph and print the same subject? Like an onion or a pepper for example?

I like this idea, but that's not for this thread/assignment.
But, you can always start a new assignment/topic/innitiative here:

Thanks, but would someone else like to start such an assignment, as I would not always have the time to participate. I would suggest the subjects chosen for photography and print be available in most countries like a potato or a pair of shoes or whatever. But you would need a deadline for display so all those participating could submit to an assignment gallery on the same day and people could comment. You could also make it just using black & white film.
