the dedicated replenisher.

You reminded me, I have some 🙂

Has a little bit remaining. I used it direct (diluted) and it worked fine. Can't remember last time but maybe a couple of years ago. Might throw some old film at it for science and a laugh!

Whilst digging that out, I found this...

Now this is old! Looks to be enough for a few films @ 1:100. Another experiment not worth doing but I will!

I do have a bottle of newer HC110 which I haven't opened yet... it's dated 2020

Also unearthed 2 bottle of Agfa Viradon which I've been keeping for a rainy day!

And finally.. on developer longevity, I bought a 5L 'bottle' of Tetenal Eukobrom paper developer many years ago and last night diluted some, and got very little development, so poured some more into the tray... still not much... tipped that out and pour some more into the tray 'neat' Took 6mins in developer and still not great! So, I have a bout 3L left ☹️ I have successfully used this not long ago (months) so it's fallen of the cliff somewhat suddenly.

It will probably "work", but who knows what developing time you should use!

i just got some adox syrup yesterday. did a roll of kentmere 400 in 1:119 syrup for 18 minutes (friend suggested me to do this) yesterday. printed today.
i have no past experience hc 110 but it was definitely pretty viscous
looks great i think. dont have a scanner so i cant show it😭 but it was an easy print, did only one test strip for both grade 3 and grade 5 for one negative on multigrade paper and developer. forgot to do any contact sheet though, but since it printed well im sure the rest are fine as well.
ill do an actual dilution soon.

That dilution would make a lot of developer liquid to maintain the recommended minimum 6ml syrup pr. film: (6x119)+6=720ml.

I personally make do with 5ml. pr. film, but I feel ashamed ;-)

I see that Freestyle has pushed back the date when the new Adox Syrup will be available again with no ETA on the website for when it will get here. I'm really itching to get my hands on some of this stuff but sheesh. I suppose I could give them my email address and get notified when it gets into the country but I already get too many emails. This week it's called:

ADOX SYRUP 110 FILM DEVELOPER

I'm not too bothered as I just bought 10 cans of Acu-1 on the Bay of E's. But THIS, boys and girls, is why you don't want a dependency on any proprietary developers (I just reread that last night in the Film Developing Cookbook).

There are so many clones of HC-110 that I wouldn't worry too much about reliance on the formula.

I wouldn't personally bother waiting for Adox 110 to show up, I'd just buy something like L110 from Legacy Pro. Same dilutions, same development times and easier to pour/mix. Cheap enough that if it goes off in a few years you won't mind pouring the last bits down the drain.

All true but I wants what I wants! (Read that in a whiny kid voice please.) On a semi-serious note I really want a small bottle of syrup, I quit HC-110 when Kodak discontinued the 16oz. bottles, I'm one of the holdouts that like diluting the concentrate into a stock solution but the quart (and later liter) bottles were too darn much for my low throughput.

I have some of the Adox syrup on pre-order as well. I'm curious. I used HC-110 back in the square 16oz bottle days too. Marvelous stuff. I switched to XTOL and when I came back to try and get some HC-110 everything had changed. It doesn't take much to throw me off. 😳

Mine is on order and shipped via FEDEX. I am a little excited.

My bottle showed up this week. Looks exactly like I remember hc110 looking. Planning on running a roll of Kentmere 200 I just finished in it tonight

Assuming I got anything good I will haha. At some point I'm also planning on doing a test comparing it to a bottle of actual old formula Kodak hc110 I've got buried in the fridge

I'm curious about developing times. I need to dig out my various ages of HC-110, I think I have a couple bottles from late 70's 😅

Appears to do what it says on the tin haha

I shot this roll in my Pentax IQZoom 928.

Developed 1+31 for 4:30 at 74deg f (followed Ilford's temperature compensation chart based on the 6:00 time listed in the datasheet for Ilfotec HC 1+31 at 68deg f)
