So, does that mean that the same product that is the subject of this thread is the real stuff?
Yes it is.
That´s why we started to make it again. My first developer was Rodinal. I was 12 years old and had just started my own darkroom. At the age of 17 I went over to the US to enjoy an exchange year at Northern Lebanon High School in Fredericksburg, PA. There I reactivated an abandoned darkroom together with my arts teacher and we found a bottle of HC-110 from the 70ies. He was sceptical it still worked and I was naiv since I only knew Rodinal so I said: "sure it will" and.... surprisingly it did.
By accident I stumbled upon the Kodak version of Rodinal in respect to keeping properties ;-)
Since then these two developers have been my top choice.
Here in Europe we could buy the original recipe up to 2022.
When Tetenal folded up we brought the US version but we received many feedbacks that it "was not the same".
That´s literally it. We wanted to bring back the "real stuff". Call me old fashioned, if you want.
To me this is a reminescence of my high school times.
The new version is very good as well.
Does anyone need this "real stuff"?
Only those who want a very long lasting developer and those who work with the high dilutions.
For most other cases the new version is equally as good or even better to handle.
All Data Sheets for HC-110 can be used for the SYRUP (US Version due to Sino Promise trademark) or HC-110 PRO (european version).
The developer works 100% the same.
Its made in our factory in Bad Saarow. We had to invest for making this. Not a cacewalk.
Thank you for using our products.
