I had an odd "New" posts count issue last night. The flag said 1 new one, but it did not show up in the New Posts list. I only have Analog checked.

I had to check all sections and found there was one new post in the Digital section. Opening that thread removed the one new post flag. It appears the flag may be showing all new posts - not just new posts in the areas one has enabled.

The last time something like this happened to me was with the penultimate version of APUG (not the last version, but before that upgrade). I had found that two members whom most thought had left the site were in fact here and active; they had increasing post-counts, though no posts would show. It was a sort of nearly global reverse-ignore.

Not sure what's happening here, but a few posts have not shown the attachment.

clicked on a link in an olde apugee link and it came up as a dead link/
i can dig though my history to figure out what link &c it was if you want
but i have a feeling this might be a common problem with old threads and olde links.

It depends how old. There are some very old APUG links from the vbulletin 'archive' pages that never translated to xenforo, even when we were at the new apug.org. Google still hasn't fully indexed us which is a pain, but hopefully it will kick in soon.

Google is a good point:

So far I rather use Google for searching, as the Apug search did not worked well so far. (Though yesterday a Apug search did turnout the respective result whereas Google did not!)
But with the change to Photrio I assume in the future, not precisely knowing when the looked for posting was done, one has at Google to do two searches, as well at Apug as at Photrio. Or can one list two sites to be searched (at Extended Google Search)?

I just got a thread posted to my in box. It is titled:

Scaning 35 mm with cheap qpix scanners rating the difference and bad developing results, need feed ba

I have no idea what is going on, but my in box seems to be partly linked to the main forums.

Hmm, for some reason they decided to ask a question via PM instead of the forum. You might want to ask them to post this in the forums. Thanks

Speaking of searches, I know Google probably hasn't indexed Photrio yet, so earlier today I did a Google search for some old obscure threads, using site:apug.org. I was still able to find what I was looking for, so your redirects appear to be working well.

Getting set up on the search console was a bit of a pain, but all variations are set and they are getting an updated sitemap every day. Hopefully it won't be much longer.

Sean:
I may have missed the explanation for this, but can you explain how the "Mark As Read" tab in the individual fora interfaces with the Analog, Hybrid and Digital check boxes.
Specifically, does it mark "Digital" posts in the Lounge (as an example) as being read, even though I don't have the Digital box checked?

Hi Matt, currently it's a blanket action that marks everything read, but we're investigating coding it up to adhere to what you have selected and only marking that.

The PM appears to be a forum post. It begins "Hi everyeone". I doubt if this is the problem.

Sean, this is not a big deal, but when I click on the 'Groups' tab it shows all the groups I'm a member of, but when I go to my Profile page it says I'm not a member of any groups. But I can live with it.

Hi Sean, I wonder if it's possible to give an option to have the content type indicators visible on the individual media page and not just the multiple media pages and sidebar. I usually access the gallery via the sidebar but don't like the way the indicators look there and if I turn them off, I can't see how the image was classified by the user. I know I can read whatever textual description the user provided about equipment and processing but it would be a helpful learning tool for me to see the way they classified it too.

hey sean

in the gallery media tools, there used to be a way
to "upload a different version / replace image"
maybe it is called something different now or in
a different place, if not, it was a great "tool" if
you realized your scan was too dark and you had a lighter
version or different version, so you don't have to retype the metadata..

I'm not sure if this is a migration issue or just a bug but I just got this error message when trying to edit a post a minute or so after posting in the Caffenol Group
