I just need to say that I love the new site, but cannot get out of the habit of hitting apug to find it ....

Ok, things are going to start ramping up again with dev & marketing. I've been away a bit on some other unrelated jobs. Sorry for the delays.

Thanks,
Sean

Sean, you're doing a wonderful job, no apologies required! Just make sure that the next time you're "away for a bit on some unrelated jobs" it's because you're getting a well earned break! Go outside and smile at the sky for a while, would you?! :D

In the case of old threads that have a recent new addition, clicking on the thread title sometimes takes me to the beginning of the thread, rather than the first unread post (which is my normal result).
The Polywarmtone thread is an example: https://www.photrio.com/forum/threads/forte-polywarmtone.47483/
Hi Matt, are you saying this option no longer works? If so will have a look..

Sean:
That option works fine for almost all threads.
The exception is just the odd thread which originated a while ago, has been dormant for a while, but just recently has been posted to again (which results in it appearing on my "New Posts" list).

This site got quite complex meanwhile. Why not take off a superfluous button?

Right above there are two "name buttons", just next to each other: one with ones Apug-name, the other with ones avatar/name's first two lettters.
To my understanding, at least with my short name, both serve exactly the same function. As both have a hovering- and a click-feature there are even 4 functions. Though two of these are the same. So take off one of these buttons

the AG is your avatar, and since you don't have one it shows that. My avatar shows WA. I think there's a way to turn off avatars though I haven't looked for it, even though I find them unuseful.

I said it above "avatar/name's first two lettters"
But aside of that, actually next to it, is another button with same functions.

Avatars even the two letter ones help in finding posts.

Not sure what you mean "next to it", are you referring to the username underneath it?

Two buttons. With same functions.
In my case: "AG" and "AgX" (the avatar place holder and the member name)

No real issue, but just a case to show that there is redundancy.

At further inspection I realized that there is actually only one button, the members name, but its sensitive area includes that of the avatar. But unless one dives deep into it one is lead to believe that there are two buttons with different functions (morever as there is a hovering- and a click-function).
Former discussion with other members on how things work show that such complexity can be irritating.

Concerning that "my posts in a thread" button: as said it only would be benefitial to a few of us, the same time bringing more complexity in use to all.

Tell you what though, I'd still really really like a "like post" button ...

Also I'd really really like an "everything in the world that's new and I hate because it's not what I like" button

I hope you someday find the idyllic world you seek, where everyone always agrees with you.

Is it just me, or has the edit function disappeared? I can't seem to find on any of my posts.:wondering:
Are you viewing on a cel phone or tablet? Some who do so have had problems with the visibility of the link.
Apparently it is there if you click on the right spot .

It only stays around for a few hours after a post. Definitely gone by the next day.

(Keep your eye on the bottom left of your post in the following two screen grabs and see if you can spot the difference  Had it been my own post, the editing options would have popped up when clicking within that area as Matt mentions.)

No a laptop. But Sirius just posted that it disappears after a certain length of time, so I'm guessing that is why I'm not seeing the Edit button.
I can see it on my original post (20hrs later) in this thread, so I guess it hides, after 24hrs perhaps.

Analog thread veiled when only clicked analog.

This thread I encountered by accident, when looking at Apug when not yet looged in. After logging in it vanished from any listing.
https://www.photrio.com/forum/threads/yashica-making-a-film-camera.153876/

When I look at the forum listings, I see a hint at that thread as latest in Industry News. But when I open the Industry News thread listing it is not there.

When I open the respective thread via the link above I get a warning it does not belong to my preferences.

This example shows that the selection between analog and hybrid does not work. At all times...

I wish I could change my post from Hybrid to Analog or Digital after the fact. I noticed when I use Hybrid there is far less views than either just digital or analog.
