But if Cinestill ends up being the only place available to get the new 250D with anti-halation (assuming I'll be able to get it at all)... then I'd buy from them. They probably market it as 400D, but knowing what it is, nothing stopping me from just shooting it at 250 and developing myself in ECN-2 minus the remjet bath.
There's presently a real push towards more sustainable products and production, and this change fits very well in this picture.
And it finally eliminates borates from all of Kodak's colour processes - in terms of volumes B&W neg probably isn't an issue, but colour is.
A while ago there were these discussions of a new product; skipping through the thread someone had the right guess of remjetless film but before the current AHU I still wonder if the "Portra motion picture" rumor is still relevant.
Thanks for the reminder! So far it is still quite under the radar without an official release? No relevant results from google searches of Kodak 5256. Rather an historical Ektachrome dupe film.Kodak 5256, AKA Portra Motion Picture film

Reflx Labs posted a blog/review talking about it:
Kodak's New AHU Film Review
A friend of mine recently bought some Vision3 35mm short ends from a film crew, thinking it was regular Vision3 film. But when he respooled the film into 135 cassettes, he immediately noticed something different: the film’s color looked distinctly unlike normal Vision3, and there was no remjet...reflxlab.com
I can only speculate, but the guy providing the sample images seems to have some connection to one of the film crews being allowed to pilot the new stock. Probably has a buddy who could smuggle him the tail end of a big roll. Lucky guy.

The price is really good. 3,300 HUF per roll, which is about 8.30 euros. I'm curious if they'd be willing to send me 15-20 rolls to Poland and how much shipping would cost. I'll have to email them. @Fortepun Thank you for the info!
Kodak are understood to be testing with trade users new vision 3 films for motion picture without a remjet layer , replaced by a standard ahu which would also makes it easier to process for still photography. This is distinct from vision 3 without remjet made for cinestill with halation effects. The below is understood to be a briefing note for the new films but is not ‘publicly’ available yet, posted by memorylabfilm in australia.
