Threads like these remind me of sports. A couple of players on the field, a couple of thousand managers, referees, trainers and general experts on the stalls.
 
Haven't seen it mentioned yet but EK just updated their website with Ektachrome 100:

B&H and FPP still have the old Ektachrome box images on their sites so far.
 
I wonder if Kodak Alaris is still involved with distribution - i.e. these changes relate to an adjustment of the working relationship, not a complete replacement.

If precedent can be relied upon from Gold, Ultramax, Ektar and Tri-X, freestyle and B and H will sell the "new" ektachrome alongside the stuff that was already available through alaris. I would guess we'll see updated listings when stock of the EK ektachrome arrives.

With B&H, we might see old packaging in the illustration until long after the stock has been replaced with the new version.
Unless there is a change in catalogue number.

Sorry, my wording was poor. B&H Maintains two separate listings, with two separate Catalog Numbers, for the Alaris and EK Films;
 
Interesting that the Shipping terms differ between the two products.
 
The good news for consumer is that Kodak have been reducing prices for both color and b&w consumer film during the last 6-12 months. That's what counts regardless who distribute the products.
 
I just wish Kodak had the sense to lower the crazy sheet film prices. Bring them down inline with ilford at least.

I wonder if this is more about branding? Seems like people want poor little ol EK to get their children back from the Alaris boogeyman? No idea. I like the Ektachrome box, now could K@#$chrome be next? Coming April 1st 2026!
 
$649.00 for 50 sheets of 4x5 Ektachrome.

Hardly seems enough...
 
This is the first indication I've seen of Eastman Kodak expressly saying that they are acting as a distributor themselves - selling to multiple other distributors.
No direct to end user sales, or even direct to retailers though.

Boy I remember shooting some 5x7 Ektachrome, been 40+ years ago, old Ansco wooden camera, Wollensak lens, detail was amazing. I think that was process E4?? I didn't develop it, there was an amazing pro lab that was an active commercial outfit. I just dropped off the loaded holders

5x7 color anything is so rare!

Personally, I think we are getting back into "Depression Era" spending as far as color sheet film is concerned. What I mean by that is a story my Father (who grew up on the tail end of the Depression) used to tell me. They had a battery powered radio; their only real form of entertainment; no electricity in the rural farm they worked. Once a month, they would take this one battery down to the local merchant and have it charged via a windmill dyno. When the battery ran out of juice later that month, that was it for entertainment until the next month.

At best, this box of 5x7 would be my yearly battery...
