OK - so what camera is that? Inquiring minds need to know.I got this camera just for a single gear to put in another camera.

It looks like it uses a running tape for the exposure counter. It also looks like it uses string (AKA 'Control Cable') to couple mechanisms, not to mention using string instead of fabric tape for the shutter.
I finally broke down and bought a Canon 7.
It's in okay shape, some scratches but nothing crazy, the slow speed gears need cleaning but otherwise it works. I think the meter is maybe a stop slow. I cleaned up under the top cover and it still needs new light seals and then it would probably be good to go.
However, I don't think I'll be keeping it. It's a nice camera but it's not that much better than my FED. The VF is only a tiny bit brighter and I don't really need framelines other than 50mm which the FED has. The RF patch has the same narrow viewing angle as the FED and the latter's meter works better. The 1/1000s would be nice to have but I also rarely shoot film faster than ISO 400 or wide open... I kind of bought a solution looking for a problem plus the Canon is a more complicated camera to work on.
I better sell it to someone who will actually use it.
I'm surprised to see someone choosing a FED over a Canon. What model FED is it and what lens do you use it with?
FED 5C, the version with 50mm framelines that doesn't have a diopter.
I know, it's irrational but while the Canon is better on paper in nearly every possible way, it feels just a bit too consumer-y, if that makes sense, while the FED is just so unapologetically industrial.
In the end, both take pictures, with the same lens even. People may feel differently here, but the Canon is *not that much better* a camera, not lightyears ahead anyway. Someone else will be quite happy with it, I'm sure.
After a couple of years contemplating, I finally decided to buy an LX.
From my research, mine appears to be a mid-release model.
Incredible camera.

Stunningly beautiful camera. Is that the 43mm lens? F1.9?? I got out an old photo magazine to look for the lens![]()

Thanks.
It really is a nice camera.
Yeah, it's the 43mm Limited.
Great lens. I use it on both SLR and DSLR.
That is a nasty Rolleiflex SL35M. I wish I know more of the story, but somehow it is of East German origin (via Rollei's Voightlander acquisition) , nothing like its West German predecessor, the SL35 which I admire. It does offer open aperture metering, whereas the SL35 was stop down.

Actually I got it at the last Photorama. Do you still go?
Here is the 'good' one with the broken gear that will be replaced from the donor camera. This is merely an exercise in 'fixing stuff' as it is not that great of a camera.

Arriving next week, fingers crossed all works as it should
NIce work! I just got a Mamiya super 23 a couple weeks ago, love it, something about its chonk feels so right.Arrived today. A Mamiya Super 23 circa 1967. Has the Graflok back with the RH8 insert.
Bought "As Is" because shutter button wouldn't work. About an hour of fiddling around and now works great. Speeds sound good. No haze, fungus or cleaning/scratch marks.
