This thread has been so popular, the old one is broken, so let's start a new one.

What's your latest new old camera?

I got a Nikon F5 via an intertubes friend. I am madly, passionately, irrationally in love with this camera.

The film advance is so quiet I thought the motor was broken at first. My Canon 20D d*g*t*l SLR is noisier.

Well, if you really want to know:

The ears on that lens are triangular instead of rounded like mouse ears, I haven't seen one like that before.

Now I need to figure out the best mercury battery replacement for that finder.

Tamara: for me too an F5 WHAAM! in every aspect; weight, speed, ergonomics, looks, tactile and ... use it mostly with nikkor 2.8 80-200 af ed. This thing is alive in my hands

I still cringe a bit when the F5 autofocus goes from one extreme to the other. Seems like the lens is going to fall apart. Of course it's not but if it's a big lens you'll feel the torque.

Tamara:Have you used it at 7FPS yet? You cannot let go of the shutter fast enough.

P ImageUploadedByTapatalk1430533910.205558.jpg Pentax Super A. I love the wind lever, it's so responsive. I ran a roll today so I'll see if the meter works or not.

Olympus OM-2 S. Black.

I've enjoyed mine since I bought it new in the 1970s.

But it only came in black, so I would be surprised if yours was any other colour:D.

One hint though - use silver oxide batteries, and take extras.

Sears M35 Autofocus (ricoh af-5 or af-303) with a 38/f2.8 lens and 46mm filter threads. $1.99 at Goodwill, waiting to put a roll of $1.99 film through it.

Like I need a reason for another P&S but hey, I didn't have this one.

An original Agfa Isorette. After a lens overhaul and buffing out some rust spots, it seems to be in ship shape. I had hoped for a Super Isolette, but the original Isorette is 6x6 to 645 convertible. I'm shooting Ilford Pan F+ in 6x6 for the first roll to see if my focus calibration is correct and to see if I have any light leaks. Then maybe I'll try it in its vertical 6x45 mode.

New old

Just bought a Leica m5 in beautiful condition, looks as if only used for a couple of rolls. I found the M6 and Voightlander cameras to be slow and frustrating to work with in bright sunlight when diods are washed out. Also, the m6 Finder is not as bright as m5. On the other hand the voightlander can be used as a PhD camera (push here dummy).

New old stock (NOS): rubber grip set for my Nikon F5. Mine has sticky rubbers.
