Four sheets of Supra Endura. Also rigged a setup to re-pressurize a gas spring from the 16x20 Saunders easel with nitrogen to 800 psi.

OK just got the my plate holder back together and the light traps look good on initial inspection. I used hide glue which is new to me and has a little bit of a learning curve but not to bad. The holders were originally assembled with hide glue which made disassemble very easy. I use a spotting brush to carefully moisten the joint and a heat gun to warm and soften the old glue. Worked like a charm. Figured I should use hide glue for reassembly. I'm sold, the hide glue has a fast initial tack so I didn't need to clamp the bridge pieces. Plus the little bit of glue that squeezed out of the joints was easy to clean up. Tomorrow I have to make new dark slides and then I can test the holders in the camera and with photo paper and see how I did.

The Quarter plate camera finally now has a working roll film back adapter and a Thornton Pickard shutter for the original lens. The roll film back wascourtesy of WadeD. There's also a 150mm G Claren fitted to another newly made lens board board.

So off to meet up with other board members for a day outwith it for a trial run

I got a pretty good working model of a 6x17 panoramic camera mocked up from bits and pieces and a couple of cigar boxes. I haven't run film through it yet because I am still trying to figure out how to get the built in dark slides/shutter to work properly but when I do, I will be able to take the back of with the film in mid roll so that I can use a GG for focusing and not ruin a roll of film.

Not so much fixed (I wish) as replaced a wonky Flash Supermatic shutter on my 203 Ektar with a working Rapax. I still have to calculate the aperture scale, but it's nice to have my favourite lens back in service.

Been working on my black FM2 body, resurrecting it from the near death it suffered at the hands of the previous owner. Replaced the damaged top cover with one that's in better shape, installed a good back, and am now waiting on the arrival of a NOS meter coupling ring.

This evening, I decided to spend some time working on the F4E. The diopter adjuster seems to be borken. Will have to source replacement parts from a junker DP-20 finder, and also need to check the wiring between the contacts on the accessory shoe and the contacts at the base of the prism. Only have X-synch, no ready light or TTL flash metering. Already know it's not the flash, since that works fine on my F5.

Cleaned up and installed a AAA x2 holder in the Polaroid Automatic 420 I got from Sirius Glass. It seems to fire right and I'll need to find a flash for it on the 'bay.

A while ago I picked up a 135mm Voigtlander Anastigmat Skopar lens on a Leica mount. It actually has rangefinder registration but it was way off. In addition, the focus was very sticky. I'm slowly working through each issue.

So far I think I have the some of the old lubricant cleaned out and the rangefinder aligned. It looks like someone packed the thing with graphite or lead trying to get it a bit smoother. I couldn't figure out how to strip it down to the helical which could use some new grease but wanted to see if it was worth playing with before spending too much more time on it.

The lens is hilarious. Its as long as the IIIc itself.

Installed new 'gas pumps' (I do not know the right name in English, do you?) holding up the back door of my Volvo station-wagon, fixing the problem of 'the dropping trapdoor'.

Aborted the FM2 resurrection project, since I found that I could get a good working black FM2n for less than the eventual overhaul that the FM2 would need. So, swapped the nicer top cover that I put on the FM2, along with the FM back to the FM2n, reassembled the FM2 with the parts I took off the FM2n, then gave Ralph Javins the FM2. He said that he'd go ahead and fix it up for his own use.

The F4E flash problem turned out to be in the body, so I wound up replacing the body with another one that's a little uglier, but properly working. One of the people at the shop said that the F4E I replaced would actually work fine for him, since he doesn't shoot with flash much at all. So, he took it home, and has pressed it into service as a backup for his F6.

I fixed up a 19" RD Artar onto a couple pieces of matboard using some wood screws and gaffers tape -- mounted it on a 7x17 camera and made my first two exposures of the New Year.

Last night I mounted my 24" Artar to its nine inch lens board for the 14x17. Before this I mounted the 24" Nikon to its nine inch lens board along with the Packard shutter. Now I just have to finish building the camera. Oh, I almost forgot mounted the aluminum barreled 19" Artar the other day to its six inch board. Going to use it on the 8x10, 11x14 and 14x17. Need to finish my reducing board tonight.

I bought a fully working Nikon FM on Ebay for only $39. The only problem with it is it was stored badly and had some corrosion on the outside. I have two parts bodies, so I was able to Frankenstein one beautiful FM together! I changed the top plate, rewind lever, focus screen, (not easy) and the front plate, which requires taking off the lens mount. It was a good opportunity to clean the prism too.

Fixed is better than new to me.

Made two lens boards for my Houghtons "Duchess" half plate camera, waiting a final French polish before one has a 1913 165mm f6.3 CZJ Tessar in early Compur fitted and the other a Thornton Pickard shutter which has an eraly Ross 8"x5" lens attached (it's marked by format not FL which is approx 12"/300mm).

Brought a 1953 Ansco version of an Isolette III back to life last night.

It appears to have been untouched for 30years, so all was stiff, seized and slow.

Strategic areas of the lens focussing threads, shutter escapement and rangerfinder have been swiped or dripped with white gas, and now are ticking along well. The self timer too well; I will have to gum it up a bit the next time I have a reason to go back inside.

I am applying thin coats of watered down PVA glue mixed with a drip of dishwashing detergent, and a dob of retouching black opaque to fill in pin holes in the corners of the flaking plastic like outer covering of the OEM bellows. One more coat tonight and it should be back ready to go.

I am learning how to build 6x6 and 6x9 Agfa Bellows. Tons of fun

Would that be from plans on the Roland and Caroline site? I am about to start down that trail if I make the new to me Agfa folder a 'regular user'.

At recent Camera fairs I went to while back in the UK there were sets of brand new OEM bellows for these cameras for about £5. I think they were cleared out when Camera Bellows ceased trading (before the staff started trading a few months later as Custom bellows). There were boxes full
