Yes, I miss him and really hope you're right Tom about him being here. I wish he would have trained a replacement before he left, but maybe Harman doesn't think as much about PR as Ilford did. Simon sure gave it a "personal" touch that's for sure.Harman Technologies, and with it Ilford, was sold by the previous executive team. When that happened, Simon Galley retired from that business, so he no longer represents Ilford. I think he may be on here as a regular member now, though.
Sorry Stone, I'm not buying the delivery truck story. I guess that truck delivered all over the USA and then drove across either the Atlantic or Pacific Ocean to make it's delivery in China???? I still say it's a ink/paper problem that might be induced by heat. We've had heat problems ever since the Sun was invented.

If he is still here I wonder what he calls himself and if he is a just a member or a subscriber?
pentaxuser.
Clicking on your link results in an error message: "The requested search could not be found."He's currently a subscriber, actually.
(there was a url link here which no longer exists)
Those are all of his threads, and if you click on his name you can find his profile page. It still mentions he's with Ilford, so that part must not have been updated. Unless he still works for them in a different capacity...
Yes, I think APUG doesn't want Simon to be "ferreted out" as they say.Clicking on your link results in an error message: "The requested search could not be found."
The link provided by Chris in post #374 results in that page. Your original link still results in the same error message I described earlier. And here's a screenshot I get when clicking on the same link:...
They did, there's even a picture of the delivery truck somewhere that was left out in the sun. There's a whole article on what happened somewhere.
That's what I was getting at. If he is here then he his lurking under disguise. The link provided by Chris in post #374 results in that page. Your original link still results in the same error message I described earlier.
In any case, Simon hasn't been active at APUG (unless registered under a pseudonym) since HARMAN was sold and he retired.

Wouldn't anyone in their right mind? I would. If I'm no longer being paid for my time and efforts, I'm not going to work my butt off for for a corporation.
I'm guessing you don't realize that he was one of the group who bought the assets of the old Ilford out of receivership (or something similar) and thus saved the business from extinction,.Wouldn't anyone in their right mind? I would. If I'm no longer being paid for my time and efforts, I'm not going to work my butt off for for a corporation.
Yes, that happens all the time, but I think Harman should have thrown Simon a couple of nickels just to be a PR man on this forum alone. It would have been a win-win for both us here and Harman. Most likely there was a restriction in the sale agreement for Harman which prevented him (and other retiring shareholders) from any future public comment on anything which could relate to the business.
Where did Kodak Alaris (or Kodak) put such statement? On Facebook?
Anyway it is the first time I hear that story.
If it was so, why did they not recall that shipment. As I understood the discussion so far they are looking instead for shipments that already proofed to be affected.
They said not all film in the shipment was affected so it's sort of hit or miss, I mean this is like a year old at this point and the batch numbers are all out there, it's kinda old news at this point. I got my replacement film months and months ago. Let's move forward.
I managed to send Ken a physical letter asking about his well being and reasons for leaving. He has responded via email. All's well with Ken and has been since he left APUG last April.Discussion today in another thread reminded me of Ken's sudden and total disappearance from APUG. I also remembered sending him a PM last August to inquire about his well being. No reply. Therefore, if anyone knows what happened to Ken and/or how to get in touch with him, please advise. Despite not being a drinker, my answer to his question in post #113
Damn Sal...Can I buy you a beer??...
would now be "sure, why not." Thanks in advance.
