I stuck a cyanotype print in there. If nobody has claimed it yet, someone should take it out and keep it.

Now I would love for that to make it's way back to me. I would love to compare your C-work to the stuff I did a couple of summers ago. I have a real fondness for blue.

I was going to suggest you get the print, Tim, since you risked your camera, supplied the roll of film and organized this round. I'll leave the print in the package when it's time to ship it, or, I could mail Walter's cyanotype to you to lessen the possible wear and tear. After all, there are still 5 people after me and before you on the list. That's a lot of miles yet. I can even scan the image so that everyone can see it (if that's okay with Walter).

It'd be great to get Camera 5 before June 24th when I hit the road to Bill Schwab's Photostock 2008: http://www.northlightworkshops.com/workshops/michigan_gathering/index.html . A creative group shot, taken with the Round 5 camera, of a bunch of APUG'rs would be fun!

My fingers are crossed, and, I think Síle brought up a good point with her last message regarding what has happened since the sacrificing of chickens stopped. Can't argue the point! Thursday night, there will be one less chicken in this world. 'Tuscan Grilled Chicken' (Pollo Alla Diavolo) here I come!

It was a tough job Marc but someone had to do it.. thank you for being brave enough to step forward and take one for the team.. I might even do the same myself this weekend..

As for Bill Schwab's workshop.. I'm green with envy, I would love to be on that.. I wonder if it would help my cause if I was let lose in a chicken farm with some rosemary and butter

Sure, no problem. I think I have a scan of it somewhere but damned if I can find it.

Some people were doing this on another forum, and it became kind of a custom to include an inexpensive gift for the next in line... plus I was trying to make up for keeping the thing for so long.

I have PMed Lisa, she has no listed email address... I have sent her a snailmail card asking her to just mail the camera. Outside of a trip to Washington, I have no idea what else to do. It's only the 16th, there is still hope you get the camera by next week.

Cross your fingers everyone.

Friday is "APUG Pagan Chicken" night. Y'all whip out your favorite pagan chicken recipe and hit the grill, I mean inferno, sauce pan, or other diabolical method of cooking el pollo loco.

Do you not think a camera turning up in the post would be a subtle enough reminder?!!!

Well, one would think.

Got your snail mail today, Tim. Thanks for the reminder (ah the guilt!). My apologies to all for the delay.

Will take my picture tomorrow am and have it in the afternoon post to Michigan...should reach Marc by the end of the week.

Lisa

ps - just opened the box. The cyanotype is beautiful. Will pass it forward and hope it reaches Tim at the end of the line.

Wow - everyone breathe out a collective sigh!

I have since moved - how do we make sure the new address is taken note of? I think I was 18th on the original list (listed as "hkr"). I am at a temporary address until around mid-September and then off to the East Coast.

Tim - do we know who "foxyscootie" (#17) is? I suppose we can provide the address at the time to him/her when they are ready to mail it out to me.

Thanks all! WE ARE GOING TO MAKE IT!!!

Shawn,

PM me your temporary address. I will take care of the details of addresses. I will have foxie send the camera on to guissimo then back to me. You will get it on the second leg (for latecomers) at whatever address you are at.

It will all work out. And Friday is still APUG Pagan Chicken day.

On the way

The camera is in the mail.

Tim, I was unable to fit the cyanotype in the new box so will send that to you directly. I'll use the return address from your reminder letter unless you prefer a different one.

Thanks!

Thank you Lisa. The return address on the envelope is fine. It should have matched the one on the list. I will PM it to you just in case.

Okay, since my last post, two chickens have participated in pagan chicken recipes. My wife sacrificed one and I the other. (Recipes to follow later.) Consequently, and probably with assistance from Tim's snailmail, the camera has arrived! Everything seems to be okay. Thanks Lisa!

The camera's counter is on 17. I'll take my shot at Bill Schwab's Photostock Extravaganza next week and will ship the camera to Rebecca no later than June 30th, when I get back home. If there's a chance I can ship earlier than the 30th from Bill's place, I'll certainly do that. Maybe we'll sacrifice a pagan S'more from the nightly fire circle and put it in the box with the camera......?

Happy trails!

Walter's cyanotype

The dust is on the scanner.

Stunning. The scanner doesn't do it justice.

Thanks Walter. It will be framed in the hall with all my other artwork given by friends.

Send me a PM with your real address. Round six is getting pulled together (I need an address or two). Please read the Round 6 ideas and make sure this is something you wish to do.

Oops...here we go:

Chicken Breasts Piccata

Bone and skin 2 chicken breasts. Cut, going crosswise, each into 2 pieces.

Place cut chicken between sheets of plastic wrap, and, with the flat side of your mallet, pound to about 1/4 inch thickness and double the size. Coat all 4 pieces with the 1/4 cup of flour.

Heat 2 tablespoons oil and 2 tablespoons butter in a heavy skillet. Add the chicken and sprinkle with salt and black pepper. Brown quickly on both sides for about a minute, which, at a 1/4" will cook through. Remove chicken and put on a warm platter.

Pour off the excess fat and then add 1/4 cup of dry white wine, 2 tablespoons of capers and 1/4 cup of fresh lemon juice. Heat to a boil, while scraping the bottom of the skillet.

When around 4 tablespoons of liquid remain in the skillet, pour it over the chicken on the platter. Sprinkle with parley. Garnish with lemon and lime slices. Serve immediately with something like a good bottle of Chardonnay.

It's nice when served with broiled zucchini, buttered orzo or tomato salad.

Thanks for reminding me about the PCP. I'm so tired from the trip, I can't see straight.

Marc
