Nous avons seulement les écureuils rouges dans l'île de Wight. So don't go bringing any grey ones over here!

As I don't eat chicken (or any meat) here is a Quorn* recipe:

QUORN BARLEY STEW WITH SAGE

2-3 Lb Quorn chunks
2 tablespoons butter
1 Lb leeks thickly cut
4 cloves of garlic chopped fine
6 oz barley
3 tablespoons red wine vinegar
3 3/4 cups water
2 bay leaves
1 tablespoon dried sage

In a large pot, fry the leeks and garlic in the butter. Add the Quorn and brown. Add remaining ingredients except the sage. Bring to a boil, then reduce and simmer for 1 to 1-1/2 hours. Add sage. Stir well and serve. Serves eight.

* If you don't know: http://www.quorn.co.uk/CMSPage.aspx?ssbid=6

You can replace the Quorn with goat, chicken or squirrel as you wish.

Yeck!

I enjoy my shitake and the noble portabello 'shroom etc - they go great with a nice medium rare porterhouse steak! But there ain't no way I'm going to be eating Quorn!

That's beyond pagan - that's.....OMG.....that's VEGAN!!!! :surprised::tongue::D

I've heard there is a camera in a bottle floating off in the English Channel. The Isle of Wight Shipping and Toaster Repair Company and all that.

We be looking forward to pagan recipes with fine French sauces upon them.

The camera seems to be wandering quite nicely through the western areas of Europe. Another stop (bjazz), then on to the great frozen american north.

Somehow I expect that seeing as all moose are pagan, we might see pagan moose recipes from that arctic enclave, as well as pictures of all things white.

So much for glittering (sunlight off the frozen tundra) generalities. Things are going well, don't feel rushed to take a shot, let's just keep it moving. I have hopes of great images.

Glad you got it straight.

I'm so boomfoggled b/w Round 4 and 5 that I about to send Asian New Year plus Lenten, tofu-based, mock flying fish recipes for Passover out to a bunch of pagan groundhog worshipers! :surprised::D

"pagan groundhog worshippers " is redundant. Like tunafish.

I'm looking forward to get the camera... even though I find it a bit hard to decide what to shoot... so many options....

Anyway, take your time.....we probably will have a very dark cloudy sky (and a lot of rain) for as long as the long term weather forecast lasts...

Just to be prepared; is it a fully automatic point and shoot camera, or are there any options for aperture or shutter etc?

Hmmmm...
there be options for shooting with flash, without flash.. but it's pretty automatic. It has auto-focus, you get to set the focal length. There is the on off switch on the back, if there are symbols you don't understand, just write and I'll explain them to you.

In other words, just turn it on, point it at what you want to shoot and click.

If it "needs" light - the flash will go off. If not, it won't.

And now, Tim, do you understand why Art only sent around a disposable?

BTW: what if we send one of these with the requirement you shoot an indoor (i.e. flash) shot?

Am I a pagan devil or what? :D

You had the camera George. You know the switch allows you to choose flash or no flash. I think this is a better camera than a plastic lensed cardboard box.

Are you a pagan devil? My recipe for copake_deviled__ham_on_toast to follow.

It did?

Geez, I never realized that - what with all those icons and buttons and switches.

Heck, I just put it on "stun" and hoped for the best!

At least George isn't claiming I Runed his joke.

Let us know when you get the camera, take your time getting a nice Nordic image, and we'll go from there.
