I have yet to select a negative for this round. Need to get back into the darkroom get these cards printed.

Regards,
Darwin

P.S. Yesterday I received a postcard from Australia with an image of a man relaxing on a beach reading a paper. The interesting part of this card was that it also served as an announcement of "Wearing a Camera, four decades of street photography" by Sam Bienstock. The exhibition took place between 24 Feb and 13 Mar 2005. Does anyone know anything about this card?

I think you'll find that this is a card from samcomet; I received the same yesterday and did wonder myself, Darwin.

Darwin & Nanette,

So sorry to have not made that clearer. It was in fact a remainder invitation post card from an exhibition I mounted years ago. Unfortunately I did not get the chance to get into the darkroom before the deadline came and went, so I used the old ones that I had printed so long ago. It WAS originally shot on film and printed offset but it certainly wasn't post from a time machine. :whistling: cheers! Sam

Just got a really cool card from Sue, over at Harman. Its a nicely printed Dragon with scales, one eye, sharp teeth and flaring nostrils and some cracks, I think it would look really great mounted on a Viking Longboat.

Sue's card arrived in the mail today for me too. I love the detail in the weathered wood.

Aluk sent me a wonderful card of two Vases. At first I thought they were onions, upon closer examination they morphed into two beautiful Vases , Avi did a good job with the lighting and placement of Vases.

Sue's card arrived last Friday, and I've only just had a chance to comment.

Love the subject and texture - I remember visiting Falmouth the last time I went to the UK for a holiday; you've made me want to get back there again very soon, Sue! :D

ajmiller's card arrived today, Fairground Ride. Standing out right in the middle of these other merry-go-rounds and other rides is a Big Eyed Bug waiting for a rider. Nice detail all around with a bay in the background. Scarborough Fair, reminds of a song by Simon and Garfunkel . Thanks Anthony, think I'll listen to some music now.

Hi,
I posted 12+1 cards today, I was hoping it wouldn't come to the last day... but hey. It was quite the afternoon yesterday to print 15 copies (a few spares), I'd never done a series of the same print. Interestingly, it wasn't that much faster than doing different prints/tests, maybe I need a better technique! But it was very satisfying seeing all them drying prints in the bathroom.

I've received 5 cards so far:
- samcomet, man on the beach, a card/photo almost as old as me! cool
- sue, wooden dragon, scary, quite the in your face composition too
- david, stately church on the water
- ajmiller, lunapark ride, very 3D
- aluk, vases, lovely still life with some very intriguing shapes

Thanks all! It's fun to open the mailbox with more anticipation and inspirational content.
Looking forward to more mail,
Gijsbert

Gijsbert, I'm really enjoying pondering your fascinating shot which I got today. I've also received lovely prints from Sue at Harman and ajmiller - you've both reminded me that I'm well overdue for a visit to England!

I must say that this was really satisfying on many levels; not only did I get to see other parts of the world, I got to see some excellent photography and printing skills, it really inspired me.

So far I've gotten Amillers card (very nice; the gloss finish and the subject matter really compliment each other not to mention the lonely atmosphere. It's really touching.
I've also gotten a very interesting card from Avi (aluk)I was truly floored with the look of the shot and the skill with which it was interpreted on the paper. I should aspire to this kind of skill and hope to print this well some day.
Looking forward to more!

Received 2 wonderful cards today - unfortunately, the postal service almost decapitated David Abberly's lovely church!
Luckily a postal worker used some barcode labels to ensure it wasn't damaged further.

ajmiller's 'Fairground Ride' reminded my mother of her days at Butlin's Holiday camps in the 50s. Love the old rides - makes for a great image.

All postcards had been sent this very morning (04/Oct/2016). Now, I hope that neither you nor the shipping are too cruel with them. I've enjoyed myself

I'm looking forward to seeing the first one (I think)
