Thank you Anthony Miller for your nice card "Fairground Ride." Nice and moody. Good to see that it was shot on a Voigtlander Vito B. My camera of the moment is the Bessa R3A also by Voigtlander (although made by Cosina). Cheers & thanks again, Sam

++ yes Matt is right.
I've noticed a couple posts about being late. We have two full months for printing and sending then another month for the post office to do thier thing, then we start the sign up again for another month. So don't panic yet, there is still lots of time to print for this round.

It's never too late to send out cards even from previous rounds, we all like nice things in our mail!

So please Don't Panic

Two arrived in the post today - Eugene (Anikin) - great shot with a classic feel and a great explanation. YABPP, indeed!
Also received another excellent postcard this time from rpavich - interesting picture, quite mysterious - well taken and printed.
Thanks both.

Got a card today with no name so do not know who its from. Great composition of the bow of a large wooden ship supported on land with some poles like in dry dock, could be Noah's Ark.

Got a YABPP today from Anikin, like the foreground play with the Eiffel Tower in the background, adds a lot of depth and prospective, never seen that combo before very nice and nicely toned.

And they are off! - cards given to the USPS yesterday (through a private mail outlet in Ferndale WA).

And I too today received my copy of rpavich's nicely dark and moody card. Except I am on the west coast of Canada.

Two items:
1. My postcards were delivered to the post office this afternoon. You should be receiving them soon.

2. I have received several very nice cards in the past weeks - thank you. Here are my comments in the order of the pile next to the computer. A very nice print from Antelope Canyon from gilbert. A place I have wanted to visit, but have not yet. You managed the high contrasty negative well. A YABPP titled "But At Least..." from Anikin. A perspective of the Eiffel Tower that is different, and interesting. Two cards from Harman Tech Services (Sue Evans and Dave Abberly). Sue's card of a dragon relates the size and detail of this carving nicely. The print has has a good range of tones. I like the detail that you captured in the dragon's scales, and the artists carving marks. The card from Dave of a church (looks more like a castle to me) is well composed. I like how you framed the church with trees to focus the viewer on your subject. A very interesting card from samcomet announcing an exhibition that happened 11.75 years ago in a land far, far away from me. One could weave a lot of stories about what the man is reading, or how he came to be on the beach. I really like these kind of photos - ones with possible stories. The card from ajmiller reminded me of my visits to Disneyland (in Anaheim, CA) when I was a child. The card from aluk is a great example of how lighting can really "make" an image. You managed the showdown very well. Nicely done.

Thank you to all, I look forward to receiving more wonderful images. Hope you like the one I selected for this round.

Regards,
Darwin

I just received a beautiful card of a close up of Oars at the Deas Rowing club by Matt King. Thank you for including all of the technical data though it pains me to think you've made something so interesting and beautiful from the same materials I have...lol. Really nice. What a treat.

Thanks for the kind words, Matt. Possibly a bit of that is that by the time I'm done with an image im so sick of it I'm ready to move on. That isn't to take anything way from your card..it really was nice. I felt like I could touch the texture through the paper.

Matt's "291 em" came today, nice deep tones in what I thought were a group of thick cigars with there paper bands . Come to find out they aren't cigars. The pearl paper and slight toning work very nice, a very handsome photograph even if they aren't cigars.

Thanks Mike, glad you like it.
By the way, the title is "291 cm", not "291 em".
