Hmm - appears I have made comments in this thread but not posted any images ...
(There are some pinhole shots in my gallery on this site.)

Kutztown Station

Taken with DW Thomas 8x10 pinhole camera, Fuji HR-T X-ray film 14 sec @ f/300 (on a grayish day)
Developed in HC110 1+63 and contact printed on Ilford MGRC Pearl surface

The 1870s vintage Reading Railroad station in Kutztown Pennsylvania, now one end of the Allentown & Auburn Railroad, a small tourist operation that only operates sporadically. The building appears quite well maintained and even has details such as a blue on white porcelain enameled sign for "American Telephone & Telegraph Long Distance Calling."

Just luv the colouration of your print Awty. How do you get it? I've just checked out your site, but no definite info on there...

Many thanks,

Hi terry I usually use sepia and selenium. The digital scans arent always precise but you get the idea.

Now a tripod mounted shot. Exposure of 6s. HP5 was rated and developed at 1600, but in 1+50 dilution of Rodinal (much more accutance and grain, but less contrast and halation). This funerary work of art is a bronze sculpture by Victor Brecheret.

@awty

Many thanks for the reply. :smile:

In a recent print swap, I received a print done the same way - in sepia and then selenium, but the sender said that he thought that the selenium didn't do anything extra to the print. I'll have to try doing it myself I suppose.

Finally, do you use a bought sepia toner or make one up from scratch yourself, and if so, what ratios do you use in the toner?

Many thanks,

polaroid pinhole 'portrait'
portrait on polaroid with a pinhole....
I like the softness and the fact that pinhole is "not suited for moving 'objects'"
