Postcards!

I should start sending postcards!

Ilford used to make postcard paper which was preprinted on the back like a postcard. I don't know if they still make it.

And most important of all, you can participate in the Photrio Postcard exchange, and in return receive a bunch from others!

Oh. Love the idea. Let's see... Three times a year... May / September / December ... Round 65 just completed... You guys have been trading postcards for 22 years?

As I said, I love the idea. I definitely want to participate in the next one. Aside from the fact that it's just a fun activity and I've never done a postcard exchange before, it also means I'll get to see real prints aside from the ones I make.

About 40 Exchanges for me - although I stopped participating a couple of years ago.

Batch printing for an exchange helps you refine your darkroom technique .

The frequency of exchanges has changed over time.

The Ilford Postcard paper isn't being made any more, but if you use 4"x6" Ilford Portfolio paper, it is the same slightly heavier stock, without the printing on the back.

I used the standard medium weight stock, stiffened by laser printed labels with the important stuff on it - because my handwriting isn't a thing of beauty, and it gave me the opportunity to design mail merge templates perfectly suited to the application

Btw, I love your website. I had encountered your article with C-41 formulas almost a year ago, but I hadn't appreciated how often you add new content. I'm especially enjoying your articles on toning and alt-process.
Thanks! I don't write half as much as I feel I should - too many other things I want to do at the same time...
