Thanks Don. Mine arrived in this morning's post.
This is amazing postal service between Canada & France - four working days, or something of that sort?

And tomorrow's a darkroom day for me. 🙃

- says my amazing cat, sorry.

Again - thanks a lot for your letter and it's content which isn't "just" a negative from the other end of the world but also a postcard-ish print, plus a whole DinA4-letter describing nearly everything.
Thank you, and after three seconds of regarding your positive I got at least five ideas how to realize my part of this wonderful project.

Best,
Reginald

Hi everyone. This is a great idea.

No enlarger in my home setup yet, but if there's still time to receive a scan, I am totally game.

The scan isn't yet available to those who want it
After touching base with @Don_ih, we have decided that this is a good moment to publish the scans, as the negatives are also arriving in the mail. I've posted an update to #1 in this thread, and will include the same text below:

Update September 17: by now, the negatives are arriving in the mail, which makes this a good moment to also release the digital scans for those who want to work with a digital file. Here are three versions:
www.koraks.nl/zut/PNX2509_4990_4800dpi.tif (Epson 4990 @ 4800dpi; 72Mbyte)
www.koraks.nl/zut/PNX2509_FTPII_6300dpi.tif (Flextight Precision II @ 6300dpi; 100Mbyte)
www.koraks.nl/zut/PNX2509_SDIV_3200dpi.tif (Konica Minolta Scan Dual IV @ 3200dpi; 28Mbyte)
The Minolta scan marked in bold is the one recommended to work with. The other two are offered to those who like to compare or perhaps want to optimize some aspect of the image that for some reason comes out better in one of the other scans. All files are 16 bit depth monochrome TIFF files with no layers or compression. If you have any trouble downloading or opening the scan of your choice, please contact @koraks.
The scans are uninverted, unsharpened and intended to capture the full tonal range of the image on the negative. No effort was done to try and match the scans in terms of contrast etc. Where possible, automatic corrections were disabled in the scanning software. Any dust or imperfections remain untouched in the linked files. It's up to you to edit, fix as you see fit.

Thanks to @koraks for his efforts in scanning and making it available.

Those who quickly grab and edit (or those who quickly make prints), please don't post result just yet - but feel free to say that you're done. We want to wait until we have a good number of people ready.

Not sure if something is supposed to happen when one clicks the above addresses but nothing comes up on my end. FYI

Check your 'downloads' folder. The file is probably there. Downloading often happens in the background. Note that these scans will not show up as an image in your browser.

Your negative will mostly match the scan. My tripod had a pretty bad hold on the camera. It turned every time I advanced the film. So the left and right varies from shot to shot.

Not as bad as the attempt I made on the second half of the roll of film. With that one, I only noticed after developing that the camera was tilting a bit more to one side after every shot.

Definitely not the right tripod.

They are direct links to the TIFF files. They are a bit large, but I had no trouble downloading them. For a moment they didn't download and I noticed a tiny notification from my browser asking me to verify that I was sure I wasn't downloading malware. With that done, the files downloaded fine and I was able to open them.

For some reason it cheers me to hear that. I was disappointed it wasn't a canoe picture, though 🙁.

No canoes anywhere near me, I'm afraid.

The other "option" was this, by the way:

I used the bold printed link. Worked fine, easily converted to a positive and resized with no editing and made a print on Moab Juniper just to see what was originally recorded. Will be working on it soon.
How should we post or send what we come up with and should we list what we happen to do?
