TO ALL ROUND 9 PARTICIPANTS:

Please visit the gallery titled "Traveling Camera Project" to view the pics, and to identify yours. Please include, if possible, the subject and location, or any other meaningful thoughts you'd like to share about your pictures.

Comments are welcome and open to all. I will upload as many pictures at a time as the APUG police let me.

Reminder to everyone that I scanned the negatives at home. I used an Epson V500 with the negatives in the film holder. This is not speedy work.

Please excuse the imperfections; I am not an expert scanner. Also, I left the framing alone, so no cropping once it came out of the scanner. No post-processing, except for blatant scanning dirt or artifacts.

Finally, please contact me by PM if you are interested in receiving a high-resolution, but otherwise unretouched, scan of your image. I'll leave it up to you to crop & edit, of course.

Regards,

Shawn

First 20 frames from the Olympus are up. Please note they may not be uploaded in the same order as they were shot. Please look for your frames!

We have about 60 shots from both cameras.

IMHO, if the first frames from the Olympus are any indication, this round is a COMPLETE success.

All 29 frames from the Olympus are now in the gallery. Some are out of sequence from the order we shot them in, so please look for your pictures.

Shawn

To the Leica people: Wow. Looks like the Olympus shooters kicked ass this round. Seriously wonderful shots. Quite a few of them enlargement & wall worthy.

Will have the Leica pics up soon. In the meantime, please support the Round 9 Olympus shooters by checking out the gallery and commenting.

Regards,

Shawn

Sean sent me a very cordial request to adhere to the 5 images per day rule. So to make up for hogging up the APUG gallery, and to give others exposure, we will upload 5 frames per day from the Leica starting tomorrow evening.

Shawn

So, What ?

Only a few folks are unashamed enough to claim reponsability of their shots ? To name them, only Shawn, Rick A, ambaker, Toro mike, kraker (and me).

Seriously, there is a lot of great pics among the unclaimed !

There isn't even the shadow of a bit of Polka dots, so where are Sile's ?

Shawn sent the Olympus to Sile to kick off the round. Photos 1 and therefor should be hers. I refer, of course, to page one of this thread.

Sorry, folks, I say it with Duke Ellington and Bob Russell: "Don't get around much anymore" here.

I claim responsibility for this image:

frame_12.jpg

A small chapel near the place I live. I planned to have a kind of minimalistic image, but composition-wise I wanted to have a bit more space at the right side so that the curve of the slope will act as natural right border with the open left side. I also thought that the curved pattern in the field will come out a bit more - which it didn't. Conclusion: I messed it

But anyway. It was fun.

A BIG thanks to all who made this happen and especially to Shawn who did the processing and scanning work.

Cheers

Ruediger,

I note your frame already has a couple of admirers from outside of our group. It is WELL earned; this is a fantastic image. You really need to look at it larger on the monitor to really see the elements at work, particularly the tracks in the field. Bravo.

Are the Nikon photos up somewhere?

So you mean the Leica photos? We didn't shoot a Nikon in Round 9.

I just posted the first 5 frames from the Leica in the gallery. We'll adhere to the 5 photos daily max.

After all the photos are uploaded, we'll upload the photos individually into this thread like we did for Round 8.

Hope all are well!

Regards,

Shawn

Hi Shawn, the two Stylus that are mine are a long-shadow-inverted Y-looking-thing and a beaver-fell-tree-near-lake. Looking forward to the rest. Glad the cameras made it home:smile:

Like Shawn, I think you are too severe with your pic, it's great !
If you don't like as it, you can try to reframe it at your taste, there is a lot of thing to do.

BTW, had you only take one shot ?

Best regards,

Raphael

Hi Andy,

Maybe, as suggested, you should post a comment on the "Traveling Camera project" to tag and documents your images.

If I understand well that they are, they are great (love the shadow-selfie-in-the snow) !

Best regards,

Raphael

Hi Raphael - I tried to but my account doesn't allow. This function was not only for subscribers and I respectfully submit the identification of which pictures were mine - here. If there are other unclaimed pictures, I suspect the photographers are faced with the same quandary. This event was a open-to-all-APUGrs-event and post hoc requiring supporters, of the event, to be a subscriber is what the matter is. I know Shawn didn't realize this and respectfully announce the matter here. I hope this will remain civil and not turn into a debate or whatnot, of how folks shd spend his/her $ (I'm not implying you would do that). Great art all who contributed! Best, Andy

Hi Andy - you are absolutely correct. This project is open to all members, and to make sure this is a truly democratic venture, we will also post the pictures in this thread. There is no need or room for anyone to speculate why some are not paid subscribers when we are all equally engaged in this project.

Hope you are well.

Shawn

I think Olympus frame No. 6 is mine.

I also think I am responsible for No. 5 as the shutter fired as I picked it up!

I have not got round to renewing my subscription so I can only see the thumbnails. I will try to rectify that situation next payday!

Steve - no worries at all! I will rename your frames to identify you, and then will also upload the pics in this thread shortly for discussion.

Hope you are well.

I am very sorry, I totally forgot that only paid subscriber can access to the gallery, even for simply commenting or displaying comments. Stupid me ! Please see no other thing than simple clumsiness in my post

Nice to see you here again
Yes, I may be here more often again, although, I am out of darkroom right now and that might be the status quo for some time. Future will tell.

... BTW, had you only take one shot ?
No, I took another one, same subject, that time more space to the right - too much for my taste, but the chapel is too centered in that one. Maybe in this once a crop might do the trick.

Cheers
