Hi,

I'm the ghost of George Eastman. You can call me...George. Stop spending money on new bodies and print more pictures.

...George.
George, You have probably never heard of this, but can you send the word down (or UP?) to re-introduce Ektalure G, everyone is screaming for Kodachrome. That would be nice, but I would settle for Ektalure G Dbl. Wt., oh, and definitely a good postcard camera and 122 film. (Yes, the morons that took over your company stopped making cameras, postcard paper and 122 film). You are better off dead than living in a world without Azo and Velox.
RIP, Mike

George tells me he hated film and the smelly stinky mess it made. He wants to know why the hell people are still using tintype if he came up with a better idea. And he's POed about the flower festival takeover every year in Rochester.

Actually there are many quite excellent Anscochrome slides hanging around in good shape.

I know, I was just winding up the Kodachrome-knockers a bit. I will write 100 times "I really must behave myself".

But, to be serious, original Anscochrome was never widely available in the UK, and even the later GAF-branded versions had limited sales. I have some of my late Father's slides from the 1960's-70's on the GAF films and they really have faded badly; I wonder if the UK processing services knew how to handle the films for the best results....some of the independently processed Ektachrome E4 of the same vintage also seems to have lasted poorly, compared with identical Ektachrome processed by the UK Kodak factory, by the service they offered through dealers, which still looks as good as the day it was taken.

My Anscochrome slides from the mid 1960's are still in good shape.

Ansco film raw stock had poor keeping, but the processed film was quite good. It was, in some cases, better than E1 and E2 Ektachrome.

I really don't want a lot.

I would be happy if they just solved the backing paper problem and brought back TMX100 and such in 120.

Yes, but at least by American reckoning when the fiscal year doesn't match the calendar year, the number of the fiscal year is the number it ends in. For example, the State of Illinois' fiscal year runs from July 1 - June 30. Right now we're in fiscal year 2018, not fiscal year 2017. So if the 4th quarter of EK/KA's fiscal year is February to April, they're also in FY 2018, not FY 2017, and in fact they're already late!

Maybe we can hope that their fiscal year ends in September, which means everything should be just about ready.
