I didn't even have time to think, because I bought it so quick. Never again will I be able to buy this camera for $22 haha

I've bought enough stuff from KEH to keep my camera karma at rest haha

And now KEH knows the identity of someone was hoping to laugh at their mistake/expense. Now that's some karma for you.

The question will be who is the last to laugh.
In Germany likely a laywer already would have sent KEH a bill with a complaint about their way of describing an item.

By the way:

KEH corrected meanwhile that product description!

I guess the Institute uv Dummies can send KEH a bill for making the OP look bad.

Well, you were clever enough not to participate at this thread.
But us other dummies took it 122 posts and two weeks to start to understand what went on with that buy.

In case you missed the point:
What the OP ordered was not shown in photo but designated by KEH with the name of that camera. Nothing else.
Only the tiny link scheme at the top showed "accessories>lens hoods"

Well sure that was a website problem.

But 1) anything that looks too good to be true almost certainly is, and 2) even if it were a mistakenly listed camera on KEH's part...well we've already been over both sides of that.

I list a $5000 camera in great condition for $500 on ebay with no pictures. Do you click "buy it now" and then go laugh about what a fool you made of me in an online forum, or send me a question?

As I said above the OP was daring to start this thread. And I do not know whether I actually would have bought that item.

BUT when I looked up that item and the camera name showed up, I used it even as proof in this thread to show that the OP was right.
And in those two weeks no one of us checked that receipt and found that lens cap.
Either no one checked that receipt to begin with or if done so found that "camera" page.

Silly me, I thought it was posted as entertainment not as a home work assignment. I missed the post about the assigned work and the due date.

Before I lough about someone else I rather check whether there would be reason to laugh.

No, we have been together for 15 years. We do not know if it will last because we have never had a fight.

Sadly... most would do the former. Even I would be glad for the profit on eBay but I wouldn't gloat about it on the forums. HOWEVER... I have let MANY sellers off the hook if they made an error. Not because they'd bought something from an estate sale for pennies... but if they truly erred in their listing/price.

Then those people (paying $500 for something that should be $5000 without verifying that the listing is correct and the condition it's in) are greedy idiots and deserve what they get. You couldn't be "glad for the profit" if it turned out to be a lens and not the camera or whatever and actually worth only $500.

I think that was the point. If something looks too good to be true it most likely is and it's sensible to verify it's really what you think it is.

Well I'm laughing now... That you folks are keeping this going! I think I have good reason also. This is such a worn out topic and a stale, bloviated discussion.

But knock yourselves out, gents.

Well, with that as context... I can be a team player. You can have the last word. Go ahead. Ha ha ha.

Well, it seems "old fart" is more pejorative than its german dictionary-counterpart.

What comes to my mind concerning airstream just now is this:

I hope that opens your garden gate for me again...

Oh bloody hell... I came to this thread for a little entertainment only to find the bloody conversation has changed to 1960's sissy rock singers and grumpy old farts. DAMMIT!!
