Shot at ISO 80 using full matrix metering on my Nikon F4S (yes, I know it warns not to use a motor drive).
Just finished developing my first roll. It's drying, but the negs seem well exposed and quite "crisp". Nice and contrasty. I shot just one of the 5 rolls I bought - on a trip last weekend in Brussels. Wanted to try it out before I head on a weekend photo weekend in Vienna in late August.
Shot at ISO 80 using full matrix metering on my Nikon F4S (yes, I know it warns not to use a motor drive). Stand developed 1hr at 21C using Rodinol at 1:100. Will post some when they dry and after I am able to have a better look at them. But so far looks promising.
Does anyone know if this is because of the film base (sprockets tearing, etc) or because of attachment to the spool (could rip off, a lá handloaded bulk film)?
Just curious, as I mainly use a motorized F3 with bulk film, so caution past frame 36 is a part of my workflow already, while pulling fragments of polyester out of the workings of the film advance mechanisms is not!
Wait what?? No motor drive for this film? I didnt know that.
I am shooting my first roll of film using my Canon 1V!!!
I wish this news was made more public!
IMPORTANT NOTE to everyone who ordered from Film Ferrania. I don't know who is at fault for the error, but in checking my account with my credit card company the charge for my P30 order is showing up as a monthly recurring charge, I'm going to call the credit card company tomorrow but I think it would be a good idea idea for everyone to check their statements. Hopefully it's just an isolated error.

Hope you will let me know your thoughts

Let me go back and double check. I don't recall any significant grain. Let me make sure I didn't grab one of the files that I was playing with.Great looking stuff there! And you actually managed to get one photo to show grain. This is a first, as far as I can tell!
We have in no way set up anything as a recurring charge. (Nor would we ever do such a thing!) Don't know why this would happen?!?
Please email me directly and let me know what you find.
Dave, any chances in the future to get bulk rolls of unperforated P30? It would work fantastically as double 8mm film stock! (Already perforated 8mm film would be ideal, but I guess it is low on the priority list)
Yep, 1 for your black and white, 1 for the company, 1 for Ferrniachrome. No one should Hijack thread to talk about other E-6 stuff (Even though I'm guilty of doing that) I think there should be a P30 Celebration Thread!Informal Poll:
Time to start a new thread or two or three?
Or is everyone ok just keeping this thread going until we break XenForo?
Informal Poll:
?
You may be in the best position to set up suitable thread topics, as you know much more than anyone else what is cooking in the north of Italy. (and I don't mean pasta)
Since this is the "industry news" segment, a thread concerning progress at getting the colour products might be good, another on the Progress of the line of B&W products. (hopeful that we will see some other fantastic films)
another on progress toward "classic sizes" like 620, 127, 126 and 110.
Some of these might include efforts by other firms to serve these market niches.
Some other segments may also be sutable places for Ferrania threads.
for example a tread on "Getting good results with Ferrania B&W on the "
(there was a url link here which no longer exists)" forum.
Well i must say that this P30 film is incredible from the shots ive seen posted!
I don't know where to find your mail address so I'll respond here. The card company rep couldn't tell me where along the line the error happened and just reversed it the recurring part on my account. I can imagine that this could've happened anywhere along the line, If you can tell me where to find your email address I'll be glad to provide the order info if you think you need to follow up at all on your end. Thank you!
