Ferrania charged my credit card tonight. Capital One flagged it as fraud.

Mine was charged last night and my credit card company did the same thing. It must have been re-processed later because I received an emailed receipt. Hoping to see the film in the next few days.

For the record, my order number was 90517.

Got my invoice earlier today. My credit card expired in May, so they gave me the option of paying via PP, which I just did. Hopefully I'll get my film this upcoming week. My order number is 90514.

Ooo the excitement builds. I too have had my c/c charged...

I want to see how this film works as B&W reversal.

I was thinking the same thing, but have absolutely no experience... so maybe I'll wait for someone else to reverse it first.

My card was also charged on Friday.

To everyone who got a receipt of a charge - our US warehouse is open Monday (unlike most of the US) and will ship everything same day.

Depending on your distance from Boston, and accounting for the 4th, everyone should get their package Thursday or Friday, maybe a couple of West Coasters/Canadians will arrive Saturday or Monday...

A lab in Italy already did reversal processing on P30 and it works fantastically. We didn't get any data from them yet, but I've got a request into them to let us know their procedure.

You can briefly see a projected p30 slide. The voice says "p30 is invertible just as any B&W film is (with the exception of the Agfa Slide Direct)"

Great news!!

Mine just went through today. Looking forward to shooting with it! (#90692 for those interested)

You know we're going to nag you until you get us their EIs, formulae, and times :D

My P30 arrived today! (90517)

I've mine too now after the postie came at 3:30. One has been through the camera already, bracketed exposures of a color chart. As I am going camping tomorrow for the weekend I'll not be reversal processing until Sunday night. Will take two rolls with me on the camping trip.

One wonders how old it is, how it has been stored, and who it was originally produced for.
I received 4 rolls of this "Rollei Vario Chrome" from Maco today - hooray! I hope to shoot and process one over the weekend. The glitzy packaging and the vagueness about the ISO rating could be a cause for concern - let's see - has anyone else already tried it? I hope that Ferrania will follow their first slide film with a faster version!

Their explanation on Instagram:

If you want to project it use EI200. EI200-400 is useable if you want to digitise it, because then you can use the latitude of the film just as you can in the negative-positive process.

Thank you - I wonder why they did not put this information in the description of the film on their web site where they are selling it. I have not developed any yet but hope to do so soon. I wonder if it could be old stock of Agfachrome 1000 RS which they have found and after all this time they would be selling it at a lower suggested ISO rating.

I have now exposed and processed a roll of Rollei Vario Chrome. It is different from their CR 200, with a cyan cast, overexposed at EI200.
More details in the APUG thread 'Rollei announces new 'Vario Chrome" ISO 200-400 slide film'.
It is acceptable for experimenting or playing with, but for colour accurate E6 photography, let's keep buying Fujichrome so they don't stop making it, while we wait for Ferraniachrome (and Ektachrome).

Why do people buy this Vario crap? Fuji makes good stuff, give them the business. I don't get it.

I'll second you there, though I do have issues with their price increases and their (no pun intended) lack of transparency when it comes to discontinuing products.

I've never really been happy with any slide film having an ISO speed rating over 100. Fuji 400X and Ektachrome E200 did deliver good color and a degree of sharpness during their brief existences, but both were still far grainier than IOS 100 slide films, and when one is looking at a 60x60 (1.5m square) image, grain really matters!
