still is Bob - there's a market there 2 times a week

I've just got an email back from the White Horse:

Does this mean that anyone who has booked a room has also been booked in for dinner?

Brian

Hi all,

I sent an email to the White Horse too and got a similar reply to Brian's which read at follows:

"We have got a block booking for you all to sit down together on both evening you are all here, I think there is about 15 of you in total sitting. Hope this helps."

---

I think next time they'll accept group booking

About the old photographs, there are 72 photographs in total. Interestingly enough they were referred to as Cliché and not photograph. They lapse from 1850s to 1940. Only one of them has not moved an inch, and shows amazing details, it reads "Imprimé au Charbon" (charbon = charcoal).

Delphine - I think their worry was that I was unwilling to give my CC details to them to guarantee the booking (rooms or meals) for obvious reasons - namely, I'm a poor student, and I'm not even staying there. I guess that after they were satisfied with enough people bookings rooms, they were happy to organise things differently. I'm glad it worked out - I did have visions of everyone having different meal times throughout the evening and noone getting the opportunity to sit and talk together

Leon , i had an idea on the direction of travel for saturday but wasnt sure how definite it was , looking forward to it ,,

The landlord might know, Dave!

(Helpful, that's me! :D)

So far I have a grand total of, er... one new print to show (and more oldies than Eastbourne)! How's everyone else doing?

Well, seeing as this is my first gathering, I can make it appear as if I've got a ton of 'new' (to you lot anyway) stuff to show. I'd be a bit stuck if I had to show genuinely fresh pictures though, as my portfolio hasn't been updated for months.

got a few that some wont have seen ... if I get it back from a postal submission in time ... (crosses fingers)

Just checked the Hotel and they are now fully booked. Change of plans on my part as a work project has just kicked off early, meaning I will be staying on the Friday night (Saturday was fully booked already) instead of my usual trick of hiring a cottage for a week - can't take a whole week off for a couple of months now <sob> ...

Bob.

One, ONE? we'll just have to look at it slowly then Frank. I must admit my print output has been low (sound of cheers from somewhere:mad:) so I shall rely on others, as usual.

I have a new print or three, though my habit of leaving stuff on the kitchen table might militate against anyone actually seeing them.

I'm logging in to a B&B down the road, but I'll be there for dinner Friday.

Well...

I've a couple of weekends left and a heck of a lot of negs to go at. I'll see what I can do.

(The damn things were fighting me last weekend though! 3.5 stop split-grade burn, anyone...?! )

Don't tell me there's a shortage of people bringing prints to show! What COULD the reason be?

Has anyone any idea of order fulfilment times (within the UK) from Silverprint at the moment? I've got some of their conservation board on order...

And, on more important matters, has anyone seen a copy of the hotel menu?!

David

You make nice photographs and it is nice that you share your knowledge with others. I myself allways read your answers in the forums with great interest. It is such a shame that you let your self down by acting like a spoilt 9 year old.

Being bitter and twisted only shortens your own time on this earth, so why bother.

Stoo, I'm not bitter or twisted! I simply felt there was a point to make, and having made it (in the mildest possible terms), I rest my case.

David

If you really want to know to what David refers, the discussion started at the bottom of page 15 of this thread and proceeded until page 21 where the mods ended it by deleting certain posts. The matter has been settled.

Personally I prefer to look forward to what promises to be one of our biggest and best Gatherings, especially now that Dave Miller has agreed to arrange good weather for us and Leon is bringing his student union card to try and get us cheap beer! :D

Have a great weekend guy's, I really do wish I could be there but I'm invited to an event that is celebrating a 100th anniversary. I won't be around for the next one!

Well, now you say that but have you really any evidence?!
