9x12 Plate holders 1

Sorry for late comment; but the holder on the right obviously is for the ICA or Zeiss Ideal (9x12 or 6x9 cm).

I decided to sell the one with the 'lip' since it doesn't fit anything I have.
Thank you for your post and apologies for my late notice; I have been away for about ten weeks and not checking the forum during my absence.

Hello-- this is great information. On a related note, I have the opportunity to buy a Welta camera from the '30s; however, it is missing the plate holder. Does anyone happen to know what (if any) brands of holders will fit that camera? Thanks in advance.

Welcome, have a look at the first two posts, in this thread my 9x12 Rodenstock camera was made for them by Welta. It's one of the most common edge types.

Hello all. This is an amazing thread, very good information for me as I have a matching set of 6x9 plate cameras. I have a Voigtlander Vag and a Zeiss Ikon Maximar 207/3. I also have a Kodak No3A with the combination back. Unfortunately I only have the ground glass for the back, no plate or film holder. Anyone have an idea what my options are for plate or film backs for my Kodak 3A?

They came with these old 9x12cm / 13x18cm Plaubel metal monsters like Universal or Supra, and what I have heard they will fit old (9x12cm) Linhof backs, too.

The structured parts are the base for plates or film, and the open frame as seen above will center the film; once locked, it will press him down.

I love to use an old Plaubel 9x12cm back, married with a typical 9x12cm Plattenkamera.

Believe it or not - this plate/filmholders gave me sharpest pics ever, depending on superb film flatness.
Other than with typical ancient plateholders it's a real joy to load my film. It's a joy to use the Plateholders AND the camera
All I miss - I really have to give her some tilt function next..

Very Nice! Could you shoot a pix of the other side of the Plaubel Holders? Were they made by RADA? I'd lie to have some of these too.

Thanks Guys! That's helpful. I too have a lot of RADA holders that fit my Plaubels in 9x12cm. Wasn't Rada hooked in with Plaubel ? I heard they started out making childrens pressed metal toys. Which makes sense to me.

Good to know. Thanks Ian.
