...although a different logic seems to apply to 35mm film.

Some film manufacturers have huge problems with a lack of credibility. Others have huge reservoirs credibility built from histories of dealing honestly with their customer bases.
Harman Technology Ltd. resides in the latter group.
Does anyone know what happened to 122 format roll film this year? It's not on the Ilford list but various people seem to want it, me included... I thought after missing making it last year this would be the year to get some 122 HP5. Thanks for any information...
...<snip>...
While I am sure that Simon would love if he could throw the tarp off the 220 film machine and offer 20 roll pro-packs of 220 as part of the ULF run, it is clear from earlier posts that the old machine would take a lot of reworking to get up and running, it was probably an early computer controled machine and we all know how quickly computer stuff gets out of date. No doubt it would require rebuilding hardware and software from the ground up to get it into production. They have run the numbers and the business case is NOT there... <snip>...
Thos blasted numbers! We as film addicts need to do something about this! I propose we get all get together and invent a new form of math so that everything we want is profitable from Ilford. Kodachrome? no problem!, color IR film? HA! a trifling matter... Want that special imulsion that you loved 45 years ago? Simon laughs at how easy it is. It would all be so easy if we could just invent a new math. So get cracking you mathmatics people.I'm waiting...:munch:
I thought it was the 9cm roll option?

Or am I wrong?
Thanks - I missed that on the Ilford list I had as it said "sheet" next to it. But I don't think there are any 9 cm x 50-foot film holders out there... Freestyle's list has it as roll. I think 122 might be closer to 9.2 cm but maybe I'm wrong. And I'd have preferred HP5. But close enough!
It is not mathematics instead it is accountancy that is the problem - profit is the bad word you are grappling for.
Kodak stopped doing 220 trix in 2010 (or there about) cause no one was buying it. Their 220 finishing machine may still be ok or sitting in a scrap yard being reduced to small parts for material recycling... Id suggest the latter, ditto Ilfords...
My fav retailer still has some 16x20 from last years ULF run, so some one ordered it and vanished.
Id buy a 16x20 camera if I needed one but I don't.

Film sales are still reducing in volume?
Digital cameras and CamPhones are getting cheaper. Most cam shops only sell digital cams, no second hand film cameras.
There are exceptions like Lomo.
This in today from Sherry at Freestyle:
"Okay Ben, Here's what we've learned:
122 is 91.75mm.
So, this 9cm (90mm) is not for 122 but it potentially could work, just not perfectly.
Last year, Ilford offered 1174832 ILFORD HP5+ 91.75MMx50FT UPEI, but there werent 20 people worldwide that wanted it, so it was not manufacture nor offered this year.
Per Apug, one guy mentions taking 1173918 ILFORD FP4+ 10"X100' UP EI and splicing it into three strips, two 92mm (122) strips and one 70mm (116,616) strip. But you would need to splice it yourself.
Here is that link from 2013: http://photo.net/black-and-white-photo-film-processing-forum/00baFo"
So to get HP5 I could slit the 8" roll I guess: http://www.freestylephoto.biz/1164965-Ilford-HP5+-400-ISO-8-in.-x-100-ft.-Roll-EI

Can we get an option for 1st and 2nd choices?
Last year I signed up for a 91.75mm roll, but there weren't enough takers to make the stuff, so I got nothing.
Perhaps this year, we could try to order 91.75, and if that's not enough, fallback to ordering 9cm. At least that way I'd get something I could use.
Hey, isn't the deadline to order this Friday?

Hoping my order for the 122 size HP5+ was one of 20 or more orders! Wondering how long until we'll hear the results.
This year you need to try a 90mm slice of film across your cameras gate if it is not going to fall off edge order before this Friday or wait till Aug 15. I'd not expect 1.75 mm would cause a problem.
edit to add: How did you guys order the 91.75 if it wasn't on the list, and can I still get some? Badger Graphic seems to have a deadline of July 3 for these orders, everywhere else the cutoff was Friday 6/27.
