Greg, the GS-1 will go along with the SL-66 as the main shooter and the GS-1 as the 6xx7 fella and the Bronica SQ boys (SQA and SQ B) as the back up gang with 2 or 3 Rollei TLRs as ultimate backups...the GS1 was the main shooter on the Maine 2006 trip and did just tine... 12 rolls 220 and 11...
Sorry I'm not closer, but I'm in North Carolina. FWIW I can tell you its a superb beast. Heavy as Hell, precise as a caliper. Reliable as water. Easy to use. The prism/meter is very good and uses half stops to split exposures. Do get Butkus's book. This guy should get a National Medal of Merit...
Looks like Bromide Burnout to me. How do you agitate? If you are rotating the tank, stop at once! This is the #1 cause of burn out. Developing tanks should only be tipped side ways between 50 to 90 degrees either way (left or right) about 2 to 3 times a minute. More will increase your contrast...
Whatever.... but KEH is still the best. If you want something for the next short while... call on the phone and ask for Dan Orchard and he will help you right out... things done by phone don't go thru the computer... those poor guys are on it 24/7.... let's give 'em a break here...

Finding my Bronica S2A and asking Jimmy Koh for another Black back (so as to have 2) and shooting the poor old tired of being shot cat and dog.... they don't like the S2A's noise....I'll use the 135 Nikkor!

I've been using them for many years.... carried a Bronica C around Vietnam in for about a year and it worked great. Came home and traded it for an EC, which was shortly upgraded to an EC-TL which lasted til I went 4x5. Now I use an S2A I got from Jimmy at KOH's cameras. I love them. they're...
Well, I didn't mean to set so many to odds. the cloud shot and with a Holga is truly exquisite! My shot that is counter show is a Bromoil and is supposed to be like that. no I have not tried it. Busy enough trying to make good prints..... with some success..... only stating my feelings, I guess...
Ladies and Germs (as Grouch Marx used to say) I need some help here. I am massively puzzled by the buzz over the lith printing fad here. I am not much impressed by what I see. I would be better impressed by good sepia toned prints. If it is the brownish tone that is being looked for, let me say...
Who knows what about 127 film and cameras. Istarted with an old Yasihca 44lm and loved that old camera and still do. I have one now.... a baby Rollei and a Sawyer's Mark Iv.... all of whom hve thewier particular features.... the Sawyer's has a 2.8 Topcor lens.... the Rollei is a Rollei, but they...
I am one of these happy GX 680 users. I have 2 680 bodies and 4 lenses. I love them all. I got the second one off KEH for $27 with the AC power supply. I need the AA battery power pack and will willingly trade any one the AC pack for a AA pack. Pay postage/shiping, too. Or if anyone knows a...
I have my 'new' Sawyer's Mark IV loaded with MacoPhot 100. shame we cannot get any TriX in 127 any more... wish we could... going to push it around and see how high I can get it with Diafine.... what'du think? 200? 250?

Only YOU, your brain and your motivation can and will make you a better photographer. No equipment can or will do it. Working will do it. Shooting will do it. Never worry about the cost of film. Select the format YOU like and want to work in and the cost of material be damned. Go and do it...

And from the Western reaches of North Carolina... agree on the enlarger.. but a scanner does help me collate shots and study for the final printing foray, but whatever you do:keep shooting and seeing this distressed old world as long as we have it left.... before the politicians destroy it!
Having given away my entire Hasselblad system to a RISD student who needed it more at the time than I did, I have decided to go back in. My first acquisition, lens-wise is a 150mm Sonnar and a 500CM body, I notice that none of the 3 Proxars, the Softar or any of the 3 filters (all B50) will not...
I have just acquired a Rolleifelx 2x Tele Extender for my SL66 without the slightest idea of how to use it. No instructions, though they were promised, but now lost. I have searched the web and SL66.com and there just doesn't seem to be any help available for this beauty. I have used extenders...
I must take issue here. Bruce Jensen and I both agree and think that photography is and must be more than mere craft. Certainly craft is a major and vital part of photography for if we do not learn our craft then we will be unable to realize our own best dreams and idealizations of what's best...
I have posted a few that rushed thru the gallery right fast. I think they live in the standard gallery now.... on page 8. Some impressions. A wonderful camera to use. easy. Stuff is where it ought to be. The shutter is way too quiet. But the meter display goes off when it completes, so I use...
She will break some one's heart some day I imagine... and he will love the whole ordeal. I know I would. A truly beautiful woman. Who could not love such a face? Nicely done.
