Many intelligent and intellectual writers here. Really! Most with an obvious need of defending one´s integrity. Ironically I believe the author knew the outcome when posting this thread. Kind of tabloid level of the scope by the way, but I truly enjoy the aftermath.
Now, I won´t point my finger at anyone in this debate and neither try to negotiate. I would just take the opportunity to make a reflection to this discussion from another point of view in general. Not from a conventional nor a lith printing point of view.
What is good taste? What is good food? What is good music? What is heavy, what is light, what is cheap and what is not?
These are questions everybody do have personal relations and answers to but is it worth expressing? Or debating? I don´t know.
Personally i find no benefits in persuading my ideas to someone else. "Each to their own" as a former writer stated and my apprehension couldn´t be expressed less complicated than so. "Try walking in my shoes" as a very talented british lad once wrote.
Well, that is of course also a standpoint but more of a defensive nature than actively claiming what is right or wrong. Or what I think or not.
There is no use debating this. Honestly! If there is a reference defining a certain level, why doesn´t every musician create complex music for classical symphony orchestras for instance? But, is complexity the answer? Is perfectionism the answer? Is sharpness? Is lith? Is sepia?
No! Nothing is the answer. My own valuations create the answer. My own. Mine. And...what is complexity btw? What is sharp? What is heavy? What is expensive?
After all, cows are holy in India. Who is to claim approx. one billion of people are wrong not eating beef meat? Dogs are pets. In western culture. Have you been in China...? Etc etc.
Without stumbling into a political discussion, I insist there is no global "definitionist" or world police setting up rules for this or that.
Specifically, we are down to a bottom line discussion here. Again. To define art...and that ladies and germs will not be defined. Here or ever. In US or in China. In a republic or in Korea. At the moon or in Sweden. It will be an open topic forever. As well as lith or not to lith.
Finally, I believe this thread will be commented quiet a while. Ironically, I am personally amused to see so many emotions in spin. Lith appears to be a weak spot for many people. Or a holy cow... to use another expression. I am a lith addict myself but I really enjoy the debate. =D
Have a nice day!
