It's the dead bug guy again.
I'm pleased to announce that selections from my ongoing Angels and Insects collection of large format, lith-printed macro photographs will be shown at The Beaumont House in Beaumont, France (near Clermont-Ferrand)from March 3rd through March 28th, 2009.

I just had this exact same problem with a Mamiya 6x6 using 220. Everything loaded correctly, as far as I could tell.
Processed the roll along with a bunch of others and all the others were fine. No edge markings, nothing. Camera worked fine during the previous roll, this was the last of the day.
I have been working with a few young models lately who have never had their likenesses fixed on anything other than pixels. When I start a session I tell them about the film process, that I will be using different kinds of film to achieve different results, what the different backs and holders...
In my experience no one will care what film format you use, but they will be very interested in your "body of work" so keep it to themes. Very concise, judiciously edited.
Less is more. Better to give them a taste and leave them wanting than to over-saturate them. Just let them know that you...
I used some for the first time recently. It was an outdoor shoot in low-lit alleys. Very beautiful. The client was happy and asked for more. What can be better than that?
The people have spoken and victory is mine. Fame and fortune await.

For most of my work I use a Libec cinema tripod with a 100mm ball head. The head is easily removable and can be placed in anything that will accept a 100mm half-circle. For low-work I use a high hat mounted on a thick piece of plywood, it has just enough clearance to allow for the underside...
Two-fer, just got another on a tongue-in-cheek photo I posted on another site.
My response was that it's just so damn sexy it's hard to tell. Oh, and the red camera, too.
I received word that I took Honorable Mention at the Prix de la Photographie Paris (PX3). This is my second Honorable Mention in as many entries with them. Always the bridesmaid, never the bride.
I'm thinking of contacting Lars von Trier, as he has experience in this sort of thing.
Here...
Got asked again yesterday.
I was waiting for a bus (which I haven't taken in ages) with my C330. The one guy standing there commented that you don't see many people shooting film these days. We chatted for a moment before my bus came.
Sat down and another guy sat close by, looked over at my...
I've posted one of these before, but just to contrast the notion that Delta 3200 + Rodinal == Super Grain:
Both Delta 3200, 6x8cm, available light. Enlarged to 8x10.
Rodinal 1:25, 11min. (thirty seconds constant agitation at beginning, invert every thirty seconds, thirty seconds...
I agree with Ian, if you're wanting to get into it seriously go with the dedicated gear. If you're just wanting to play around then a diopter is an inexpensive add-on.
I'm pleased to announce that my cover for Withersin 2.2 "Bone" was nominated for a Preditors & Editors award: http://www.critters.org/predpoll/zineart.shtml
The photo in question is below. Shot on Type 55, lith printed in and on Maco.
You can also find more of my work and words in...
Depending on what you use you can get some pretty detailed prints, I think. I've been fairly successful in getting a lot of detail in there:
Sadly the paper I used for these (Maco/Cachet) is no longer produced and I have yet to find an acceptable substitute.
On a similar note my four year-old son was given a "kid tough" digital for the holidays. It's kind of neat, rubberized and ruggedized, made for small hands, etc. etc. What's really kind of interesting is that it has two eyepieces to view through (stereo vision) which I'm sure is greatly...
For me the GX680 is mostly just awkward (in addition to being heavy!). It was never designed for handheld (as far as I know) and it shows. The shutter release is up on the side, which makes it tough to reach. I generally use mine on a stand with the remote release, but when I work with people I...
I shot my RB67 handheld for a good five hours Friday, only stopping to swap it out with my GX680. Sometimes I remembered that I had a neck strap on it, but mostly just cradled in my left hand. I did some lighting proofs with a light DSLR, which just felt strange. Sure, the RB is a lot heavier...
Anyone know how to tighten it? I've tried gently prying the knobs off (thinking there might be screws under them) but they don't want to budge and I'm afraid to bring my usual style of percussive maintenance into play.
It's not such a big deal with shorter lenses, but with the 210mm the front...
I didn't return it. There was a lengthy delay between the time I paid and the time it shipped (emails were ignored and I had to place a call several days later). Since I purchased the lens for a specific shoot I needed it quickly and ended up paying extra for expedited shipping. The amount of...
I bought a used lens from the Adorama eBay department recently. The price I paid was good, I thought, but the description was way off the mark from what I got. The listing said "barrel shows some use, but not abuse" but neglected to mention the large dents from it having been dropped. It also...
I really enjoyed his old exploitation-era work. He really had a flair that set his work apart from the crowd. Thank goodness for Something Weird Video.
This has got to be something on the scanner, probably under the glass. I also think it's got to be related to static or something as well, because it moves around.
The prints seem fine when enlarged traditionally so I'm not going to lose too much sleep over it.
