Controled tests of Acros vs Acros II (the latter with the Ilford involvement) show they are almost the same, for example spectral sensitivity seems the same, so it's very doubtful it has anything to do with Delta 100.
How quickly the view on Kodak changes...
Five, or eight, or ten years ago (when I used to browse APUG without an account) everybody said that Kodak had higher costs than other manufacturers since their operations scale was far bigger than the reduced demand. And that a manufacturer that wanted...
There was another one in german about BMW:
BMW = "Besser Mercedes Wählen"
(It's better to choose mercedes)
Also, for FIAT: "For Italians, Adequate Technology"
I'm suspecting that maybe the pro photographers who shot 70mm film, then handled the 70mm cartridge to the lab and then the lab did the development using a typical roller-transport machine (that can process any length of film).
I also agree that neg films are better with respect to sharpness, and I was forgetting about DIAR couplers too. Photo Engineer did say, years ago, that on reversal films all the tricks with development-inhibition-agents couldn't be used, and this was a disadvantage on reversal films.
There's only one who can confirm our suspicions and reveal the mystery. A special agent with insider knowledge...
@Henning Serger
Henning, unser Beste Freund, wo bist du?
But it ticks all boxes correct...
They are saying "based on (movie film)". When you research the movie film, it is iso 320.
Which they now sell as ISO 500. 2/3 stop. The typical gain of cross-processing an ECN2 film on C41 film.
Only the nerds like us know that CineStill 800T is actually...
Yes... to me it is really clear...
They apparently have manufactured a new batch of the old Agfa movie film. Which film?
Since "out of africa" is mentioned, it's probably XT320. From a film forum:
"But David Watkin, who liked 5293 and used it on "Yentyl", disliked 5294 enough that after using...
This has been explained before, but it seems OrWo has a partnership with people of what was called "inoviscoat", which is formed by former Agfa engineers and machinery.
And, of course, OrWo used to be Agfa Wolfen... used to be the ORiginal WOlfen plant.
I have the same question...
It is...
@MattKing perhaps we can merge threads? This one with this:
https://www.photrio.com/forum/threads/orwo-wolfen-nc-500-c-41-color-negative-film.192162/
Also this thread is starting to be derailed to the color news announcement (my fault too)...
I agree. I used to shoot concerts. Superia 800 was superb film. I never used Superia 400 since 800 was so good and if I wanted better image quality i should be using Reala 100.
Grain was really fine, 8x10" enlargements looked great. Even Superia 1600, enlarged optically to 8x10" had nice grain...
Let's hope the people at the Original Wolfen HQ doesn't forget the color film at 5PM...
As my favorite rock singer (female) said...
Du hast den farbfilm vergessen
This is great news.
I'd suggest that people should request hand inspection more, even symbolically -- that is, carry one or two rolls that you don't mind sacrificing, and request hand inspection.
The more people carry film at airports, the more will the officials get used to film and...
I need to get that book.
However the parts i've put in bold, can also be done for negative too. You can also choose a developer that gives a bit more sharpness (i.e. a developer with no silver solvent in it).
And as for the "elimination of the printing" benefit, I'd say the truly excellent...
Well, that's great news, this means your camera is OK and has no problems with undue battery drain.
The camera only draws current when the mirror is up. So for brief exposures the energy consumption is very little.
The Pentax 67 and 6x7 (all models) are fully electronic cameras, no matter what people believe. I know exactly how the shutter works, it's an electronic shutter, as is the one in the P67II.
Remove the battery on a Pentax 6x7/67 and you won't ever be able to fire a shot, only raise the mirror...
In the past, Kodak Supra 800 had very good (imo) skin tones, and it was pushable as far as I remember.
I also used Superia 1600 and it had acceptable skin tones.
You are correct, but put your bulletproof vest soon.
What happens with reversal development is, you can get what appears to be finer grain, since the image is now formed by grain that was uniformly exposed with a strong light source (= uniform, smaller grain).
This (IMO) is the sometimes...
The P67II is a very much improved camera, but in any case...
There are two jolts, the one when the mirror comes up, and the other when the mirror comes down. The latter is stronger, but doesn't matter at all. The former is the one to be concerned with.
On the P67 (and all the P67 cameras i've...
