Just short circuit a series of buying and selling lesser cameras and just go right to Hasselblad and you will never look back.

Your first decision is whether you want square or rectangle format. Then pick the camera.

Exactly.
Format choice is the first priority.
Then after that whether you prefer an SLR, TLR or rangefinder system.
And when that decision has also been made: What is your budget, and what is the wanted quality.

+1 I've always said: buy the most expensive tripod you can possibly afford first, because you're going to buy it eventually and can skip buying all the others in between. Wish I had said (and done it) with MF cameras as well.

For many, it's certainly the aspect ratio. But honestly, I shoot 1:1, 3:2, 7:6, and 5:4. I almost never think about that before I pick up a camera. I adjust my vision to which camera I'm using...and that's mainly the Blad.

My thoughts exactly. Started with Nikon in 1954 (still a Nikon loyalist), had lots of TLRs, began a fashion apprenticeship in 1966 using Hasselblad, then Zone VI 4x5 and 8x10, and finally back in the "right" place (for me) rolling around Victor (my 501CM) and his kit in a jogging stroller. GAS can be fun, yet capturing and sharing images is what makes me smile inside and outside.
