It's been a while since I posted here, so the M4 is no longer alone with the Planar. In the past months, O got:

  • Jupiter 12 in a very decent shape
  • Hexanon M 90/2.8 (had it calibrated for the M4 and it works like a charm)
  • Nokton "Classic" 35/1.4 (one DOES need a 35 that opens enough :D
  • Super Wide Heliar 15/4.5 in M Mount. I LOVE wide angles, and this one is the best I own

I added a decent strap (Leica leather one), a few filters.

I also made a pouch for each lens except the 15mm (need to have this done!), and a filters wallet for the 43mm filters (Since the 90 can take a 43 with an adapter, and the Jupiter can use a 40.5 to 43 adapter, this makes sense to stay with one kit (that is, plus one for the Heliar as it needs 52mm ones)

1) Got a Welta Weltini with scuppered rangefinder for 38 bux. Took a test roll to see if it's worth unscuppering. The f/2 Tessar is sharp as all get out, though it flares if you even think of a bright light source. Maybe I'll try and unscupper the rf myself. Anybody had any luck with any filter to cut down the flare?

2) Found a very rare rf-coupled Roeschlein Luxon 50mm f/2 Paxette lens on the auction site in Portugal. Now it's mine. Nice lens.

Leica iiic and a Summar 5CM f/2. Haven't had a chance to run film through it as I got it a week ago and it didn't come with a take up spool. Should be getting one soon off that used gear site. Have wanted a Leica forever and can't wait to run some film through it.

Canon G-III QL

Mentioned on other thread.. I got a Canon G-III QL17 from my grandmother. Just dropped it off the Camera repair for re-foaming. Can't wait to shoot with it.

Got a Zorki 4 today. Seems to be very similar to my Zenit E of 40 years ago. Outside looks a bit different but it feels exactly the same!

Bell & Howell/Canon Canonet 1^9

I grew up on fast-lensed Japanese RF cameras, but I swear they were all pitifully short-lived. As early as the late 1970s, it seemed that any time I saw one for resale (Yashica Lynx, Minolta Hi-Matics, Konica Auto-X, etc) - they had their shutters frozen shut. In the last ten years, I must have picked up a thousand of these, only to find dead shutters.

At a flea market in Ohio, I saw the Canonet 1 (hyperscript 9) in a badly-beaten leather gadget bag (complete with a flashgun and a few boxes of AG1Bs), and, to my astonishment - the shutter works! Even at the one-second setting! (slide film is now on order).

The camera came loaded with KM64, likely from the box for the same marked with 1979 expiry (I'm gonna try to make B&W negs from it!)

A sad sight: 3 Kodak processing mailers that went unused.

Congratulations! If I'm not mistaken, and I might very well be, they are made by the same factory: KMZ. The Zenit was developed from the Zorki body.

Got a Fed 2 with an Industar-26M.

A Bessa R3M this week, still unused by me. I'm not sure why people bash these cameras so much. I've never held a Leica so I have no basis of comparison to "the best". It is not as fine as my CLE but it is easier to focus and has the built-in thumb bump in the back which makes holding it easier.
