It. does. And it is true for many.

I find there are people who say other people do things (or buy certain cameras) for "bragging rights" or "status". But I don't ever find any examples of people who do that.
Who are these braggarts? Where are they? Who are they bragging to? And in what way does it elevate their status? Do they belong to a club?
I like taking pictures. And I don't give a flying f##k if the camera is digital or analog.
Yeah.I get out plenty.
So you are not bragging when you say you can do get on fine with any camera, film or digital. That's just a factual statement, right?
And there are slews of Leica users (wearers?) who fit the boasting/status profile.
Wow. Some raw nerves out there.
For something completely different try 4x5 or even 8x10 Portra. That's different
Since I do not shoot multiple rolls at a time, I send my color development and printing to Samy's Camera in Los Angeles. I just cannot wait long enough to collect 16 rolls of film to develop in batch processing.
Why not develop one at a time?

C-41 chemistry goes bad quickly once you open the bottle. Most people I know develop in batches.
The color chemistry will go bad before I shoot enough film to use it all. It is cheaper to send out the film and get a set of prints that waste the color processing and then doing my printing for one roll of film.

I guess that sometime, somewhere in the past, someone a bad experience with bad developer and ended up with a blank roll of film.
It happened to me once maybe 20 years ago and since then I check dev activity once the developer is over 4-5 months old.
Stored correctly, they seem to last (for me at least) long enough to get 30 rolls out of a 2.5 litre kit. So about $2 a roll which is more convenient than $10 develop only at a lab.
