Thank you Adrian for the update. I myself will probably move away from Xtol-R as well, now that I found a somewhat economical way to use Xtol one-shot. I heard DD is very similar to DDX but it’s not available in my region unfortunately. I used DDX a lot when I first did B/W photography many years ago and I have a vague memory about pronounced grains with HP5+. Maybe time to re-try that as well…

Replenished DD and DD-X Don’t give the same results, the same as xtol and replenished xtol don’t give the same results.

I have never tried DD, but have tried DD-X and while it did what it said it was supposed to do, I wasn't overly excited with what I got with both Kentmere films, Delta 100 and HP5+ all medium format. In fact, I thought Ilfosol 3 gave me results that fit my style better. All said and done, I stuck with Xtol-R (now Adox XT-3R) and have given up looking for a better all-purpose non-staining developer. I got better things to waste my time on. Plus, life is just too short and getting shorter all the time.
