If you can't get to the site, use a different browser.

The Vanta G-5 uses 35mm film and is similar to the Seagull DF-99 but adds a DOF button and multiple-exposure capability.

The Vivitar VX cameras were a definite improvement over the earlier XC cameras -- which had the Pentax screw-mount.

Did all of the three VX cameras accept the motor drive or just the VX-3?

Do you happen to know who made them? I would suspect Cosina. They might have made the XC cameras as well. Just curious.

Voigtlander Perkeo 1

Was at an antique shop, moderate price, which I got adjusted down by trading an object I found at a storage box sale a few years ago.

This is not a rangefinder model, I am going to get better at judging distances!
BTW, any non-photo modern rangefinders that could be useful to photographers?

There are laser rfs for golf and whatnot, but I don't know if they're accurate in the short distances where exact focus matters most, and you'd have to be very careful not to shine it in anyone's eyes.

Well, I went to the auction site and found a Prazisa rangefinder, of the same era as the Perkeo! It sound not be too difficult to figure out how to use it.

They were made by Cosina, based on their CT-1. There's a good article on Kosmo Foto about it and all its derivatives: https://kosmofoto.com/2021/02/the-little-film-camera-too-ahead-of-its-time/

A minty Nikon D200 with 18-55mm lens.

Hsssss! Witchery!!

Seriously, this is the analog-only part of the site. To us, that's a) not old, and b) not a camera.

Oh my, you're right. I need to be taken to the woodshed/darkroom. I'll delete the post if I can.

I wouldn't worry about it that much, just don't do it again.

Just received back from United Camera Repair the Minolta Hi-matic 9 I won at auction and sent them to repair sticky shutters and do a complete CLA. Works perfectly now with a crystal clear lens and viewfinder thrown in for good measure.

There aren't enough places left that work on older cameras. Can you give us the details on the place?????

I've been wanting a Lomo Voskhod scale-focus camera for a while and thanks to Fotohandel Delftshaven I finally found one for a very good price.

Definitely a well-used camera but not a beater either. The best thing is that, contrary to the what the shop said, the (aperture priority) light meter *does* work which is somewhat rare. Shutter times sound good, only the 1s snags, and focus and aperture are smooth. The viewfinder is comparatively big and very bright. However, at almost 700g it's a bit of a beast.

Gonna clean this baby up this weekend and see if I still suck so bad at scale focusing.

Vindication! Are you watching, Donald?

Last night, I bought a Pentax Zoom 90WR and a Pentax Espio 928m. They both take 35mm FILM!

A Pentax S2..... no pesky meter to worry about. Bought off the site....the film transport was rough and the shutter lagged....so the seller gave me a refund, which paid for the service. Not being a digital guy....this keeps my fantastic 50mm f1.4 M42 going. I also scored a minty 35mm f 3.5.... Ah the vintage Pentax life.

I don't know either model, but I carry a 35 mm every day (due to compactness) even though I prefer medium or large format.

That looks like a genuine Copal shutter. Am I wrong?

Almost a month ago I acquired a Canon EF, a.k.a. "The Black Beauty" from around 1975 and I can't exactly determine the year since I couldn't see the secret code inside the film chamber possibly due to harsh cleaning from previous owner. It has chipped paint here and there and a bit of brassing mainly on extremities but overall still looks appealing. While for the lens I "borrow" from the 1971 FTb I acquired earlier on February this year, a Canon FD 50mm/1.4. While for functionality, sadly the electronic is absolutely dead and the advancing lever is a bit loose although I have to give the credit to Canon for the smooth and yet weighty operation of the advancing lever, while everything else is in a good working order. The viewfinder is reasonably bright and not too dirty, the shutter speeds and self timer seem pretty accurate, the shutter plane and film chamber are pretty clean, and surprisingly the light seal is in a very good condition (although possibly been resealed). I also tested the other features like mirror lock up, stop-down lever, double exposure button and the weirdest quirk of this camera, advancing film 2 exposures right after loading the film without pressing the shutter release, all work perfectly fine. I've been using this camera a few times and I have to say the heft is perfect and the operation is high quality, smooth yet with authority and reassuring, absolutely joy to use despite lost the ability to meter and shutter speeds slower than 1/2 second, 2 sacrifices that are trivial and absolutely not interfering with normal using. Now I know why people call this camera as "The Black Beauty", it has handsome lines derived from its bigger brother, F-1, made with high quality standards and overall offers great user experience even without pesky 1.35V batteries (yes it's plural because it takes 2 batteries to operate Canon EF).

Located in Rock Island, Illinois, USA. In business since 1955. They state that work on all cameras, film or digital. One of the few places I found that will work on Hi-Matics. Cost for repairing the stuck shutter/CLA was $83.70USD+$20.00 shipping. Did an excellent job on mine. http://united-camera.com/
