I traded a gallon package of Dektol, same size Kodak F5 fixer, 72 sheets of 30 year old Kodabromide post card paper and 5 dollars for a 1960s vintage customized Calumet automatic rocking print washer. I'm trying to get a new membrane seal for the 60 year old solenoid brass body water inlet valve. They used these valves on 1950s and 60's era washing machines. That was 4 Maytag repairman(s) ago :sad::laugh::cry:
 
Dad handed down his Pentax IQZoom 160 to me.
I can't stop myself on Ebay. I just picked up my third Minolta 16 II in the last 2 months. This was the cleanest, nicest one yet. Best part, I won the auction for the princely sum of $1.00 please $5.xx shipping.
 
Canon Sure Shot 130u......for the grand price of 99p.
 
Just picked up another Minolta XD-11. I have a soft spot for XD-11s, couldn't help it. This one came with an old Vivitar 2-ring 85-205/3.8 zoom. The zoom has no value to me. But the camera is in remarkably clean condition and everything works. Oh, and it also came with the Minolta Winder D -- I think it is. Nice little plus, that.
 
Also picked up a Nikon F in good condition...so far have had an F3, F4, F100 and now this. Glad I kept some lenses around just in case!
 
Finally...a Nikon F4s in fantastic shape and a high serial no. (251xxxx).
Just the camera, not the lens.

Rarely do I see these (or its XD-7, XD equivalent in the European or Japanese market) because I don't buy off ebay.

I'm a sucker for any camera with a shiftable program mode and so the XD-11 calls me. However, my camera repair friend with 35+ years experience warns me against the XD-11 because many develop electronic problems which may require a donor XD-11 to fix.

Still, I congratulate you on your prize. I hope it serves you faithfully for a very long time.

I didn't buy either of my XD-11s off eBay. I chose a riskier venue -- Goodwill's auction site, shopgoodwill.com. All items are sold as is with no refunds. So it's a gamble. I've had good luck buying off shopgoodwill and I've had not so good luck. Mostly good, though. It used to be that one could pick up clean old camera off shopgoodwill for cheap, but other folks have discovered the place now, and they consistently bid up certain popular cameras often beyond what they can be found on eBay. Fortunately for me, this XD-11 avoided their bidding, and I got it for a good price -- about $25, which includes that funky Vivitar zoom. So now, keeping your camera tech's warnings in mind, I've got a good working XD-11 and a good working spare.

It needs a good cleaning, but here it is:

I could not resist, GAS overcame me (no I did not eat baked beans or cabbage). I bought one of these beautiful 1960s Canon 50mm f/1.4 LTM lenses for my Leica IIIC. It came from a Japanese eBay seller in only 8 days to USA. The seller said there were some scratches, but it looks completely clean and haze free to me. The 1.4 lenses are mostly clean internally, but the 1.8 versions almost universally have haze or some sort of internal coating damage. I am still testing my 1.4 with film, but it looks fabulous on digital.

I went the exact same route with my XD-11. Paid about the same price, and when I received it, it looked in mint shape. Also added a winder. It's my favorite manual focus.
 
Prewar Zeiss Ikonta 521. Really compact for a 6x4.5 camera!

The XD11 is my favorite SLR. I got a beautiful one off of ebay several months ago that had just been CLA'd, and it's amazing! Mine has the MD 28-85mm on it, and that's what I frequently use because of its useful range, and excellent performance.

Mine, too. My oldest and most-used one is starting to get a little dodgy. These cameras have a reputation for electronic failures and I've been very lucky with mine for decades but now it's starting to become unreliable. I have it in a shop now to see if it can be helped. Luckily I have two others with much lower miles on them so I should be good for a good, long while.

My latest new-old camera is a Contax IIIa found at a local flea market this afternoon. Cosmetically only so-so but mechanically it seems to be fine. Shutter speeds sound right on and the meter even works!
 
Voigtländer Inos 1, 6x9 and 6x4.5 (unfortunately without the 4.5 mask). Test roll says „CLA me“.

1948 "Romer 63" by Universal Camera Corporation, New York, NY. Both a 620 and 120 format camera. $10 flea market find. Shutter was sticky, so I cleaned it with naphtha and it responded almost instantly and fires correctly. Lens was lubed with black molly grease, so I scraped it out and put in some Superlube. Interesting shutter release on the bottom of the folding plate that favors horizontal compositions.

Found a lot of info on the Universal Romer I and II, but very little on the Model 63; presumed named because of it's blazing fast 100mm, F6.3 "Universal Anastigmat Lens. Other than a scratch on the front lens, seems in pretty good shape considering it's age and, no doubt, storage conditions over the last 71 years.

Yeah so I got the 16mm bug. Some one gave me a Kodak Pocket Instamatic 60 and I got it powered up with 3 button cells after a few tries. I bought a Minolta 16 off of Ebay and 100 feet of microfilm to go with it. Then I built myself a film slitter. This is all because someone sent me a box of darkroom gear a while back and one of the tanks was a Yankee Clipper that takes 110/16mm film. So I had shoelaces, now I need a suit to go with it...and a house and new car.

Film is fun.
 

I mean I was given shoelaces so I need to buy shoes, one doesn't buy new shoes without getting a new suit. Nor does one wear a new suit without a new shirt and tie. And once you've got a new outfit it just isn't done to drive around in an old jalopy. And what'll it look like if I pull a brand new car into the shack that I call a house?

Someone gave me shoelaces so I bought a house.
