If it were successful, it would have been still around. central sprocket hole was apparently a bad idea.
So how come Kodak did not employ central perforation? Was it copyright protected or something? I'm still not convinced.Not at all; it had many advantages. The supposed "weakness" in film transport was due to cheap or toy projectors. However, what caused its downfall was intense competition from Kodak pushing the inferior 8mm, but with better marketing.
