Strictly speaking, this isn't my latest new-old camera, but this time I've shot it on film  Original image shot on Lomo Color Negative 400 (6x4.5). Equipment used included Bronica ETRSI, 150mm lens and an extension tube.

Gifted a Pentax P30date by a co-worker last week. New batteries, a good clean and it came back to life, including the databack.

The P30. Looks like a non-important thing but I consider it a very nice camera. I own two, and somehow I use it more than my Nikon F2s and Canon F-1s.

I strongly agree. I absolutely love the F-1. I had one some years ago and took some incredible pictures with it, but I foolishly sold the camera. This one is definitely a keeper, and I'm looking forward to capturing amazing moments with this one as well.
Andy

Don't sell it!! I don't think i'll ever sell my F-1s.

The 28/3.5 is one of my favorite Nikkors.

I guess you love extreme vignetting...

Just joking, I miss my 28/3.5 Nikkor-H. Someday i'll find a HC version.

Canon F1 also arrived grimy and with rotting foam, but the seller included a couple of free, fixer-upper lenses including this 50/1.8. Lens had been disassembled and put back together wrong. It took me awhile to figure out, but I got it in the end.

Never thought I'd score a Nikon SP cheaply! But the rangefinder patch is kind of dim. Lens was also bargain-priced because it's lightly fogged. I'll take a look inside later on, but for now I guess there's no reason I can't simply use it as-is. Cloth shutter curtain looks almost new.

Perhaps the only two cameras I'd keep (if I had a Nikon SP)

I acquired a Zorki 3M last week. I've only put one roll through it so far, but it's very pleasant to shoot with.

W0000T!!!!!

I bought a Pentax KX!!!!

A Pentax KX!!!

Yes, I realize these aren't exactly rare, but it's taken a while to find a clean, undamaged, fully functioning one that I can inspect before buying.

Same here, all the KX and K2 i've found aren't in good shape.

Good find! And you got lucky with the M50/1.4 !

So, I recently bought a Canon F-1n with an FD 35-105mm f/3.5. This is one of my favorite combos in 35mm photography! The camera has a little brassing but not too much, and I really like the improvements in the "n" over the original model. The lens is spotless! I also bought a Minolta XE-7 with a Rokkor PG 50/1.4 for $31! The seller listed it as untested and that the film compartment door didn't close. Well, I figured out how to secure the film door and with fresh batteries, the meter works beautifully! The 50/1.4 is completely haze and fungus free! It has a very clean viewfinder without any hint of mold or fungus, as is not uncommon with these cameras, and it doesn't show much wear. A steal!

Excellent good! They are sweet cameras. I managed to score one in perhaps Excellent plus condition, with a flawless f 1.4 for.....just over $100.! K 1000s go for that or even more around here. Go figure! Gotta be photo class instructors speaking out of profound ignorance.

I've just bought a Konica C35 AF for six of our English pounds at a flea market. It caught my attention as it was in such excellent condition. It wasn't until I arrived home and looked on the web that I discovered it was apparently the first true autofocus camera, though crude by today's stands as it used zone focussing. It seems that Konica enlisted the services of Honeywell to develop the autofocus technology, which is very slow but seems to work. It has the case and rather weird cap that covers the lens, viewfinder and two focus windows of the electronic rangefinder. The web suggests that these have a bit of a cult following.

A friend just gave me a nice AE-1 that he no longer wanted.

In pretty good shape for a 1978 camera! Only thing that doesn't function is the LED next to the shutter release, otherwise all functions seem to be OK.

Honeywell developed AF tech, Minolta lost a patent infringement suite to Honeywell, as I recall a $100 million, may be have reduced in appeal, put Minolta behind in R/D.

A French 4 x 5" Gilles-Faller from the 50s.
Wooden cameras Gilles-Faller are heavy but very well made. I have 6 different of them and, like the others,
Gilles-Faller-4.jpg
Gilles-Faller-5.jpg
the oldest (~1900) is also in this nice working condition.

First time I learn about this camera. Interseting design, very decently made.
What kind of shutter your sample got?

It's a simple curtain shutter, a Midelly which looks like the Thornton-Pickard, with 6 speeds from 1/15 to 1/90, B and flash synchro.
The lens is a single coated Boyer Saphir 150 mm f4,5.
Camera weighs 4,5 kg, with thick pieces of wood and metal ; it's made to last, less to use...

Nikomat FT-N.
I have several of these ultra reliable cameras now, and use them with students.
So much camera for so little - and so reliable.

These cameras are truly one of the sleeper-gem-cameras of the Century! I love the Nikkormat and Nikomat along with the Minolta SRT series...

And the Canon Ftb and the Pentax KX, and . . . what else? Leicaflex, maybe? These are all ultra-reliable, rugged, full-featured, manual-exposure cameras. Nonetheless, I have a couple of Nikkormats and there is no disputing their ruggedness and reliability.

Recently got a bunch of cameras in auction, haven't had the time to go through all of them just yet, but the ones I have put me in a good mood.
Starting out with a Hilkaflex (Toyocaflex) one of the many Rolleicord copies. Came in an excellent condition both visual and mechanical, with Tri-Lausar 8cm/3.5 lenses. Viewfinder is surprisingly nice and bright (photo doesn't do the justice).
Could still do with some cleaning, I presume shutter ring has some grease / dirt in it since it takes some effort to turn it. Ergonomically I have an issue with the same shutter ring, since I've been fiddling with it and changing speeds I tend to wind up the timer as well, which is somewhat annoying, or perhaps my fingers are just way too big.
Nonetheless excited to take this one out for a spin and see what it can do.

When life gives you N80, even with cheapest lens there is, even if it's plastic, you never refuse. Because how can one refuse to get one of the softest shutters among the SLR? And especially when it's all for free.
