That's a real gem. I have a love/hate thing with these (and the Memo, and the Super Regent) because of the grease issue. I want so badly to have one that works.

I have an inexplicable love for 20th century American-made cameras. Maybe it's the underdog syndrome, as American cameras as a group are ugly and often unloved (yet ironically incredibly popular in their day). I finally saw a Univex Mercury CC with the 35mm f3.5 Tricor lens at an estate sale at a price I couldn't resist. It seems in pretty good shape, the shutter fires, lens unscrews, focus works, but of course, it doesn't take standard 35mm film cartridges. There are ways to load film in the darkroom, so as soon as I can, I'd like to run through a roll. I wonder if anyone has designed 3D-printed replacement cartridges.

I just picked up a black Nikon FE2. I haven't even put batteries in it yet. I'm hoping for the best, but it was only $20, so I'm not sure what to expect. If it works, I'll need to invest in some AI lenses.

I have just sold my D700 and a few little used lenses to buy a good, clean Bronica ETRSi, 40mm, and 150mm lenses. Add to that, a plain prism and an 80mm F4 Rodenstock Rodagon enlarging lens. I have not had a chance to use it yet, I am still waiting for film to arrive by post but raring to go. Hopefully tomorrow.

Looking at the prices of other Bronica lenses adding to what I have at the moment will not break the bank.

I own a similar ETRSi outfit as yours. I love mine, and I'll bet you'll really like yours. If you haven't gotten one already, I recommend the Speed Grip E. It's an inexpensive accessory that makes the camera much easier to handle. The grip has a double-stroke film advance lever too, which results in a camera that operates like a largish 35mm.

Great looking cameras. Both of these are on my short list of must haves. I notice the Clarus is the first series, which had a reputation for being unreliable, does the shutter work?

It is not the first series, the early ones had bezels around the windows. Except for a missing screw in the top plate, everything works like it should. The camera is shockingly heavy, I think that it might weigh more than the Chevron.

My mistake, I had seen two different types of accessory shoe and assumed that was the distinction between early and late. Just looking at them, they do look heavy, like they were milled out of a solid piece of metal.

So far everything checks out. Of course it needs light seals and mirror foam...
I sold my F, and my FM and F3 have problems, so I guess it's time to upgrade to all AI lenses for the FE2.

I am extermely happy using a Nikon F2 with the original Photomic. It shows aperture and shutter speed in the viewfinder in a much clearer way than when using the Photomic for the AI lenses (F2A camera).

Apparently it's not one many have heard of. I have an obsession with collecting 35mm interchangeable lens rangefinders which I can actually afford (e.g. < $50 each). There were some beautiful machines made which could be considered also-rans, but when it comes to making pictures, are as good as any.

Brand new Kodak VR35 K80 from 1986 (Made in Japan - Chinon) with a unused 12exp Kodak Gold ISO200 and AA batteries (They are busted but..well, at least they are there). I got it at a flea market for 3.95$, I couldn't resist :- ) I think it will make a nice little street shooter.

Maybe not so old, but just yesterday an EOS Elan 7n from a Goodwill auction was delivered by FedEx. Its date code is TS03xxxx, indicating March, 2004 manufacture - a very early production 7n. In this case, at least, a camera I bought from Goodwill had no issues. I mated it with a BP-300 Battery Grip from KEH Outlet offered in an eBay Buy It Now as being in "Excellent Plus" condition, and the lowest priced BP-300 on eBay. It came without the eyepiece, so I borrowed one from an EOS 5 in my accumula-, I mean collection, until a replacement from another eBay Buy It Now comes in.
