Yeah, with Nikon (or Canon, Minolta, Pentax, even Exakta) there's no end to what you will want to buy because lenses and accessories are inexpensive. Yesterday I just bought Nikon non-AI and Canon old-FD 50/1.4 lenses - even though I have newer versions. I'll just use them on other bodies.

With Leica M or Hasselblad, you're limited because the selection is smaller and the prices are higher.

I'm getting an inexpensive Mamiya KL 75mm simply because it looks great and "fills the gap" between my 65mm C and 90mm C

So, Nikon F2... you're gonna need some lenses for that. :whistling:

I swore off getting anymore cameras but for $175 from KEH in EX condition, I couldn't pass it up. It got here the other day and the meter is even spot on with several other cameras. Nothing like the F2 Photomic...in black.

F2 Photomic by David Fincher, on Flickr

One of the finest cameras ever, and this comes from a Canon diehard fan. Yesterday I was dissasembling my DP-11 Photomic. Internal construction of that thing is second to none, it even has brass spacers where plastic would have been just fine.

Take a deep breathe, pick up the telephone on Monday, call KEH and ask them what else they have for you. :whistling:

That's an idea but, I must not give in! With three FTN's, an F2Photomic, FT3 Nikkormat, F2A and F2AS I'm pretty well set for awhile

Err...pretty much for this year I think. With those, the M2 and the 6x7 I have plenty to occupy my time.

They have you under your skin. You will give in. It is only a matter of time, so do it now to get the best ones left first before someone else gets them.

I have to have something in mind that rings my chimes before I go looking. Right now, I'm keeping blinders on and no tab for KEH in Firefox so, I'm safe for the time being.

I am not immune! Can we post about lenses to this thread? Hasselblad f/3.5 CF 100mm lens + KR1.5 B60 filter + lens hood.

... Hasselblad f/3.5 CF 100mm lens + KR1.5 B60 filter + lens hood.

Based on Hasselblad's MTF chart alone, at least in the late 1990's, the CF 100mm lens was the best in their entire system, if not best in medium format entirely. An exceptional lens.

David,

I think you mean this month... ;-P

Anyway, to carry on the tradition, the FM2n that I traded toward the F5 boomeranged itself back into my kit. Just like what happened when I bought my first F5 in 2007 (different FM2n, of course, similar condition, though). *FWOOMP-FWOOMP-Fwoomp-fwoomp-fwip-fwip..........................fwip-fwip-fwoomp-Fwoomp-FWOOMP-FWOOMP*

Unfortunately, the 35/2 Nikkor-O wasn't able to do the same. Friend of mine bought it the day after I sold it.

I lost two bids on two of the 35 f2 O-C lens in this past week. One was especially nice but I missed it by a few bucks. I'm sure others will turn up. I don't kow why I feel I need that lens. I have the AIS version...maybe just nostalgia for my FTN Photomics or the F2 Photomic.

Enjoy your plaything.

On eBay? If so, you really don't know how much you were outbid by - if your max bid was $500 and the other guy actually bid $12,000, the winning bid you'll see is something like $504.

I did something like that once - I really wanted a particular book on diesel locomotives and put in an insanely high bid. The poor guy who lost to me probably thought I robbed him by a few bucks at the last second. Actually, I gave him a chance: I bid 45 seconds before the closing - an eternity. He just didn't realize how much I wanted the book and how high I chose my maximum.

Nikon FG for $39.00, EX+ at KEH today. I bought it for hiking, camping and such. It will spend it's remaining years shooting Tri-X or HP5.

Yes, hood, filters, Rolleinars, a lot of the "practical accessories " were already in hand.

Nice outfit. I do not have a hood for my 3.5F and haven't even used it yet. People say the hood makes a difference.

The FG is nice,

If you think you'll be using P mode a lot, you'll may want to use AIS lenses even though AI lenses work. Here's an interesting page about the difference in aperture control between AI and AIS:

...though I suspect you prefer all-manual or aperture priority.

If the lens is free of haze and scratches, and you keep the sun to your back, you should be OK. Fotodiox sells some second party bay II hoods that are really nice, and not as pricey as the originals.

Magazin Ciné-Kodak 16mm (1936-1945). US Navy Issue complete with some "US Governement property" magazines.

Rolleiflex SL35, pictured with the black broken one it's replacing, and some Carl Zeiss lenses to test out!

The frame counter is a bit sticky, opening the back 'rewound' it only to 22, but a bunch of whacks with an empty plastic film canister got it back to zero. Hopefully that improves as it's used.

'Love that 50 distagon. All others need tubes to get close focus. 'same lens, reverse color. Now get some images posted!
