A very nice rangefinder and I'll enjoy testing it with some fresh film. But right now I'm first testing a Olympus Trip 35, a Olympus-Pen EE (half frame) and an old ADOX camera (a Polomat I ??). All loaded with Fomapan 100 pushed to 200 (for grain).

I thought I'd posted this before, but perhaps I did in a different forum. This camera was mentioned in a post on the LFF which the moderator was nice enough to delete because it was not posted in the For Sale forum, so it didn't get much traffic. Anyhow, I responded to the poster and he told me the sale price which I was able to come up with (my wife contributed most of it!). The camera included both 11x14 & 8x10 reducing backs and a blank lens board. It is essentially unused, hardly any marks and the knobs are so tight, it hurts my fingers to turn them. I put chardboard on the bed to keep it from getting scratched by the reducing board. It's so neat that it uses the same 6x6 lens board as the V8, so I don't have to remount any lenses. Anyhow, it's my 6th Deardorff, but my first ULF camera! I was really lucky to get it for roughly the cost of it in 1982!

The $60 F that I picked up from Roberts Camera. No, it wasn't equipped with an eyelevel finder, nor did it come with the F2 cosmetic pieces on it. I did swap those on to make the camera more comfortable to use and threw on the eyelevel from the chrome F so I'd have something to use. Self-timer needs repair (currently stuck in the set position, but the button doesn't do anything, and the lever can be rotated freely to the rest position) and camera could use some refoaming.

The $60 F that I picked up from Roberts Camera. No, it wasn't equipped with an eyelevel finder, nor did it come with the F2 cosmetic pieces on it. I did swap those on to make the camera more comfortable to use and threw on the eyelevel from the chrome F so I'd have something to use. Self-timer needs repair (currently stuck in the set position, but the button doesn't do anything, and the lever can be rotated freely to the rest position) and camera could use some refoaming.

Just received a black Pentax Spotmatic SPII with a sticky mirror. I removed the mirror release lever, spring and the gear that releases the mirror (driven by the second shutter curtain) and now all is well. New foam (the proper black stuff and not the grey stuff you can buy off auction sites) was fitted,in all the right places, and I have just put a film through it. I'll process the film tonight so, fingers crossed!

Check the prism for desilvering. In my experience the SPII models can suffer from it, while the original Spotmatic models didn't.

You can easily replace the prism on a SPII with the prism of a SP.

I am the proud owner of a SPIIa model.

Yep. Got it for $35, plus shipping off the 'bay. Originally bought it for the aperture ring, but then realized that it was in better shape than the lens I planned to use the ring on. So, leaving it intact. I did switch back to the original style prong, since I think the older lenses look better with them and the ADR numbers are still readable in most situations.

Sweet lens. I have a mint 135/3.5 Nikkor-Q with original metal hood. Looks like out of the factory.

I picked up a 135mm f2.8 Nikkor-Q to test against my 135mm f3.5 Nikkor-Q. Mine had a little paint rub and a dented hood, but the glass was near perfect. It turned out to be one of the best Nikkors I have ever owned as far as optics and image quality. The best was a 105mm f2.5 AIS lens. Nikon medium-teles were the gold standard and held that position for some time. Oh, the 135mm f2.8 is a peach on those digi cameras with adapters also.

Yes, this is uncommon.
However what I like of the spotmatic is the standard screen. I think it's better than split image. In fact i'm starting to want to replace all cameras with split-screen...

I actually agree. I have a Nikon FM2n with a ground glass screen with some markings in it (E2) and I can focus it really quickly.
