Pentax ME F. Bought it this evening at Lincoln's regular night market. Wasn't intending to buy anything, I was just having a nosey but for £25 for a camera I have actually checked over I couldn't really pass it over.

It's not really a "new" old camera as I've had the body for about 3 months now but I picked up an Olympus XA for a total bargain from a flea market. Everything works, though on later inspection the base was broken and the clamshell didn't slide properly. Also as a result I later found the bearing that the clamshell slid on had also gone AWOL.
Anyway, picked up a spares-or-repair version, replaced the base and the bearing, and picked up a working A11 flash for it.
Now testing it out with flash to see what results I get with that. I've already run one film through without using flash and I know the thing works just fine. Lovely little camera, impressive for its size.
Also sold a load of my life to afford a Leica M5 and Voigtlander 50 1.5 ASPH. Waiting for the M5 to come back from the technician who is sorting out a few issues for me. Can't wait to use it.

my friend gave me a Zenit TTL for my birthday. he had it CLA'd . It even has the original manual and "passport" in Russian.

Not a camera but a Hasselblad f/8 500mm C lens which when used with the 2X extender will give me a 1,000mm lens which is equivalent to a 624mm 35mm lens.
The only Leica I've ever fancied is an M5, and the itch to buy one is increasing. I remember them coming into the shops new, and thought how interesting they looked at the time. This chap uses one with a Summarit:

My latest new "old" camera isn't that old... it was just stupid-cheap on The Bay... a Nikon N75 with a Nikon 28-80D which I paid $14 for SHIPPED.
Don't know what I will do with it yet, but I will find it a good home.
The last camera I bought for myself was EOS 1-N, found it with a power drive for $49 shipped in mint condition... Still fiddling with it.

sad Nikkormat EL
Just bought a very sad Nikkormat El. Paid 30 dollars for it, more than I usually spend at the flea market. I got it for the 50mm 1.4, sc lens on it, It had green corrosion on the top plate, the speed dial would not turn and the mirror lock up switch was stuck. Did I mention it was a little dirty. It fired only on one speed. I put a new battery in it, once I figured out where the battery went. This got the meter needle to react to light but nothing else. I pitched the body in the trash after reading on the internet the camera was very difficult to repair. The lens cleaned up very nicely. The lens is very smooth in movement, almost like it had very little use. This morning when I was taking the trash out, I dug the camera out. I had no other cameras to mount the lens on. So I thought I'd give it a try even with just one speed. But first I took the shutter speed dial off, held on by two rusty screws, pressed the dial release button with the pliers tip, it moved and the shutter speed dial was working. Using the same pliers I moved the mlu switch and it worked. I then removed as much dirt/crud from both switches and put a microscoptic dab of oil on both switches. The camera now seems? to fire at all shutter speed on manual as well as on automatic. I shooting a roll of Kentmere 400 in it now, and adding camera repairman to my resume. J The roll of 400 is done, metering is spot on. yea

I felt the same way about the M2. I had George go over the MR-4 meter and it now reads spot on with my F2A. I'm having visions of going to Paris with it.

When I was 15, I lusted with all the vigor of a teenage boy for one of these (far left) ...it cost the equivalent of 1360 gallons of gas, so was quite unaffordable. Instead, we owned the one on the far right, it only cost 515 gallons of gas. Even the one in the middle was an object of lust back then, at 870 gallons of gas.
I finally owned one at the age of 62. It cost me today's equivalent of 7 gallons of gas, for a perfectly working camera! Stricken by the need to fulfill 50 years of lust, I bought the one in the middle at age 62 as well, also fully functioning, for today's equivalent of 14 gallons of gas. The camera on the right was owned at age 15.
In fact, in the above photo I now own the entire family and shot the family portrait, just like the Beseler magazine ads of the mid-1960's.

Wildlife. Like this I saw in October in Moab Utah.
My girlfriend saw it and we were able to slowly drive up to be twenty feet away. We watched it for about fifteen minutes and then v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y drove away.
Normally I can spot them on the ridges over 1,000 to 2,000 feet above me. This one was on White Rim trail just north of Musselman Arch.
I know where a major migratory Big Horn Sheep route is in the Moab area. There I came up on a herd of them. We stopped the Jeeps before the rise and crept up to look over the rise and watched the herd for a half hour.
These were taken with a 300mm lens on a 35mm Nikon N-75.

The wind shifted and the dominant male stood his ground until the rest of the herd was well away from us, then he left. The last two photographs are the dominant male leaving.
