You do need to be careful the meter holster is no mistake for a firearm, it's a real possibility whether you wear it or pull it out of your kit, in public.

Good looking camera, I hope it's no 'shot out'.

It had a full tune up sometime in the 80's. Feels like its working, only thing a little janky is the film advance lever. Needs to be tightened down.

I prefer these road wise cameras. I don't feel guilty nicking them up and taking out in the weather. Camera has seen worse than what I'll do to it and has survived.

Yep, being ready to go for anything but black tie dinner, well conditioned, all metal classics can be counted on to get through the bumps and weather of most assignments, even if self-asigned.

I like Canon F1s and Ftb qls for this but I've had and continue to have a Nikon F as well, with its own share of tales of the road.

My Pentax Digital Spot Meter in the leather holster was mistaken as being a fire arm.

It's my SHTF camera. Fully mechanical. Power goes out due to EMP/Solar Storm? Someone has to document it. Push some 400 a few stops and a fast lens and off to the races.

I know all about the pink firearms. I can put an orange tip on this thing and get shot anyhow.

Picked up this Canon A-1 from a forum member here. Sent it off for a CLA and now it works tip-top. I then splurged and picked up a Motor Drive MA. It wasn't until it arrived did I realize that it took TWELVE AA batteries! But it is mint and works great.

The A1 and that ME are a great combination, I had one with my F1N ae kit, years ago, and used it to photograph modern and classic ballet dancers and wildlife.

The camera is very usable and quick in the hand and the MD did very well with nicads, which give steady, strong power until they are near exhausted.

Others may have different viewpoints on battery choice and, IIRC, there was a rechargable battery pack for that unit.

By “loose”, do you mean it is loose on its hinge or it has some in and out movement when latched? If the latter, then some new seals in the film door channels is needed. Eric Hendrickson at pentaxs.com can refurb the camera for you.

Got my Signet 35 back from a CLA. So I guess it's my New Old Camera.

Had a piece of film installed behind the rangefinder window for better contrast.

As an a-side, use silver oxide batteries in the camera, they deliver power better than lithium cells.

Picked up New F1 to extend my F1 family. I got a particularly good deal on the F1 N and picked up a motor drive cheaply also and they work very well together. I did a lot of reading about the New F1 and a few of the options I wanted weren't on the camera without a motor drive or a power winder, so I found a good deal on the power winder. Always wanted the New F1 but the price was always out of my budget, but I decided to buy myself an X mas present, and this was a good deal for a LN camera

Just got a Bantam 4.5 -- Anastigmat Special (Tessar type) lens, shutter's hanging on 25 and 50, but the thing I'm not sure I can fix is the missing pressure plate. Spring leaves are present, but the plate is gone...

I was mildly surprised to find this camera is almost exactly the same size as my Autographic Vest Pocket Kodak. I had though it would be a little smaller since the film is only 3/4 as wide and the frame 2/3 as long.

Perhaps you can make your own pressure plate based on the P.P. of the Kodak, with brass which you can de-edge with with micro 3M abrasives and blacken it chemically.

Mounting springs could be made of broken bandsaw blade material thinner to size on a multi face, diamond block, if you do no already have donor parts for this piece.

Let us know when you sort it out, it sounds like an ideal cold weather project.

What's your latest new old camera?

A Pentax PC35AF -- had one as a kid (doesn't work any more) and it took me a few tries to find a working one, but I finally did!

For those unfamiliar, this is Pentax's first 35mm compact, and it's auto-focus, auto-exposure but manual wind, with a really good 38mm f/2.8 lens. Very small and light and relaible. I used to travel with mine as a backup body and got some great pics with it.
