I've been playing with 35mm a bit more lately - I went down a rabbit hole with getting a Zenit 35mm SLR because it had the 16mm fisheye on it, turned out the camera was one of the later versions that had a Pentax K mount, so I wanted a less crusty camera to shoot with. So I found a Pentax MX on ShopGoodwill, with a 50 1.4 for under $100. The MX has issues, including eating batteries, so I took it in to my local repair shop. They wanted over $300 to overhaul it, so I bought a Pentax LX for not much more. Got it home, to find out it has issues with the film advance. So I bought a winder for it thinking maybe the issue was with the manual film advance lever; oops no. That didn't fix it. So now I'm sitting on a pair of problem children with a handful of lenses for them (the 16 fisheye, the 50 1.4, a 100 f2.8, 200 2.8, and a 28-70). So I'm on a gear-buying hiatus for the foreseeable future. I'll have to wait and see what the quote for fixing the LX comes in at. But until then I can keep using my Canon F1 that I have a 24, 50, and 80-200 L lenses for.

I won a few ebay battles and ended up with more film and another bulk loader. I have 6 or 7 loaders now. I've lost count.

The wife and I were floating Christmas suggestions off each other today. She wanted some fancy artist pencils and paints. I suggested I would like a 28mm Summicron ASPH Safari edition, I'll be sure to let everyone know how it turns out.

You’re perfectly welcome to send my your Secret Santa, New Years Gift of whatever lens your Leica glass supplants: well used is just fine!

Seasons Best!

Pentax Spotmeter V from a forum member here.

Nice meter!

Hi, Thanks. I had one years ago... I sold it and got the Pentax Digital Spot with the Zone VI tweaks, sold it when I went to the dark side (digital).

Congratulation!

Did it come with film?

I'll know when it gets here. I suspect it might. It's also the 'good' style loader, a Lloyds. I don't mind the Watson so much but it has features I don't need and can be finicky though rarely. The Lloyds are simpler and have slightly less waste. Don't lose the key though.

The “key” is one of those things we here can 3-D print from a file in a 3-D running thread, and make for one another as needed.

I like Watsons, Alden’s,
(spelling?), plus most other types, in fact I think my 70mm is a Watson.

I need a 70mm loader...

I bought a Nikon 2018 55/2.8 AIS gonna sell my 28/3.5 AI and 55/3.5 AI to recoup costs.

A mint Nikon F-501, a clean Minolta 7000AF (pretty rare finding one that isn't falling apart) and a very neat Canon 300V.

First two are for my 1980s first-gen AF SLR collection (almost there) and the latter is to pair with a 40/2.8STM pancake as a lightweight film buddy to my main Canon 6D setup.

Blue Moon sells them at a Benji a piece.
That listing has been up for years now and I have never seen one in stock.

Ssince 2022 when I started looking, I have seen maybe 4 come up and sell. The cheapest was $175 at an auction in Huston last month. Rest went for 250+.

I just know how many turns 15 ft is on my bulk loading jig, that’s good enough for me.

(on a 1 inch core, 50 turns for 0.1mm base, 52 for 0.06mm base.)

I have to do it the old way. Two pieces of tape on a table and hope it goes right.

15 ft table?

I can technically do this if I need, I have an 8 ft board I can use in such a manner by running the film up one side and most the way down the other, although thankfully I never needed to.
