These earlier versions are beautifully done. Looks like you have a really nice one. I think I viewed one of these at a camera show some time back. Always thought that the periscope was neat.

Broncolor Power Pack Bonanza by Nokton48, on Flickr

Amazing deals are out there on Olde Broncolor stuff. I wanted some newer packs for the studio, started looking around, I have a lot of Universal Blue Heads of all sorts, they are compatible with more modern Broncolor, but are not fan cooled. This Pulso 2 was their -top of the line- 1600WS pack, has every bell and whistle available. New cost $4,300 I paid $150 on Ebay. Then I walk into "World of Used Photography", and back in their clearance room, are two PRIMO A 1600WS packs ($2,595 each new), and two PRIMO A4 3200WS packs ($2,995 each new). So I buy the packs from Gary for $50 each. Also in the clearance room, I pick up another complete Broncolor Impact 21 300WS Monolight for $12. So now I need some PRIMO A4 heads (rated for 3200WS) to work with the A4 packs, but my old heads fit the PRIMO A 1600WS packs, as well as my new to me Pulso 2. So the point here is that there are some uber good deals to be had out there.

I bought a PRIMO A flashtube today used on Ebay today from Israel. They turn up here and there. A bit more than I wanted to pay but I want it to check out the PRIMO A packs you see here. The modeling lights are 120V 250W screw base tubes which I also buy on Ebay, I have many spares at the moment. All the 120V heads take the same modeling lamp, AFAIK. It is usually much cheaper to pick up a complete head with tube, and modeling light. Flashtubes can be expensive but I've bought plenty of them relatively cheaply.

Great to know they are there.

Just to be sure, you do know to never directly touch a bulb with your hand or skin, the oil will slap burn it out quick as making a deep fried peanut and banana sandwich.
 
I’ve got a Harrison Jumbo Film Changing Tent on it’s way. Should be big enough for change film/paper in my 5 1/2 x 14 pano pinhole camera.

EF 24-70 2.8 L II.

For work. Got it used. Never been so ho-hum about a purchase, never been a fan of the 24-70 range but work has taken me to a place that I need that extra few stops of light and although I don't like to admit it 24-70 is where my general range of photography sits.

Boring, useful, my buddies tell me it'll end up being my favorite lens ever and I'll never know how I got by without it.

Time will tell.
 
Bought a 12 quart galvanized bucket (at Tractor Supply) to hold the hot water bath for my upcoming attempts at mixing glycol based developer(s). It can, of course, also hold ice water to control heat when making sodium metaborate powder from laundry borax and drain opener lye.
