Silver oxide button cells "Made in Japan" nice and fresh.

Are these really that hard to find in the US? I can buy them anywhere here in Japan - convenience stores, supermarkets, electronics stores, hardware stores, etc.

My usual place was out of my standard made in USA Eveready 357 silver oxide cells. Most places sell made in China alkaline cells, which work when fresh, even these were gone.

Sorry OP for hogging your thread but i wanted to ask if anyone knows where to get 4x5 fomapan in London?
Thanks. It's a photographic emergency.

Looks like Jessops, London Camera Exchange, and Aperture UK are the obvious choices. All are big enough and old enough they likely still carry film cameras and film -- but I'd ring ahead just to be sure (save cab fare or time and parking). There are other camera stores, too, but those seem the likeliest candidates.

Got a nice 14” Kodak Commercial Ektar recently but only none of my shutter release cables would fire the Ilex No. 5 shutter. So after a little research I bought a 20” Gepe Pro plastic covered shutter release cable. I just tested the release cable and it fires the Ilex No. 5 nicely.

I just bought a Nikon N2000. It will serve as a lighter weight "always with me" slide film shooter over my F90x.

A lovely black Pentax MX from a fellow member on this forum. It looks barely used. Now to find a winder among my collection, mount my f1.2 50mm and do some street shooting!

My tax guy told me that I am not spending enough money on photography and car repairs. I have to get more active.

Been stocking up on Velvia 50 4x5 sheets as much as possible.

Also recently acquired a Sony A7RIV and Sigma 70mm Macro Art to create an improved digitisation rig for my film.

A 28mm viewfinder and a 85mm viewfinder, the later from central Ukraine. A little support to them. He will ship tomorrow. He has not had any shelling yet. I hope he and his family stay safe.

If we can count service, I just paid the invoice for CLA’s on two Ilex No. 5 Universal shutters. They both need Carols (Flutot’s Camera Repair) magic touch. Should ship out Monday, be in my hands later this week. Oh and 10 boxes of 135 36 exp Tri-X 400 from my local shop. At $10.50 a box, I think I did good.

A canon fd 50 1.8 with seized focus ring. These lenses have plastic threads which can easily "jump" from a thread to another as a result of a hard blow. An easy fix, but the glass was far from perfect. My intention was to canibalize the lens for the glass, but no luck this time .

Arrived today, Lewis Carroll, Photographer, Roger Taylor and Edward Wakeling, Princeton Press. Roger Taylor was one of my lecturers, I also did one tutorial with him 20 years ago, he's now a Professor of Photographic History..

Roger was asked to write a forward to a book of the Rev Charles Dodgson's images by Princeton who own his archives, he said no and instead produced a masterpiece of research matching all know Dodgson images to his diary entries. Each page was colour proofed, to ensure best possible reproduction images. It's a heavy weight publication, weeks of reading.

Gitzo G340 tripod in great condition with a G315 riser (I'd have prefered the flat top or leveling base.) Separately I bought a very large ball head--a Gitzo G1575 offset ball head. The tripod is to find a better support for my 5x7 and maybe the 8x10. The ball head is just to try--I've never used a ball head on a LF camera, since I'm not really sure how well I'll like it over a 3-way head, but it was cheap, so I'll give it a go--and it is huge. If any ball head will hold a 5x7 steady, this one will.
